Ok well, yes I did randomly join DeviantArt two or three days ago. It wasn't exactly premeditated. I saw your "deviation" under what's new. So yes I did come to your deviation. And this seems more like a banner that would actually be more effective on a real social network. I'm not saying anything about what you're trying to accomplish here, I'm just saying half the people on this site are 9 and have no use for this.Β

There is room for dissenting views. Dissing Israel is not one of them. She is not the creation of "Imperial America". The US and its empire have a lot of faults, this is not one.

Β Β What's ironic is as soon as someone sees the Confederate battle flag for the Army of Northern Virginia, they immediately yell racist. Of course they forget slavery was an institution that had been around for 75 years prior to the creation of said flag or the country that created said flag. The whole issue of slavery was not this cut and dry issue of "slavery is bad, stop it." It was a tentative and sensitive issue where revolutions had killed thousands of innocent men, women, and children.
Β Β Β Prior to the Civil War in the 1840's, the Haitian slave revolts had taken place. The majority of the population was slaves, and all it took was a few literate slaves and off they went, killing French colonials, raping French women, and killing children of said French families. This caused abolitionism to be viewed as nothing more than hostile nut cases who wanted to kill anyone who owned slaves, (or violent "Christian prophets.") The majority of abolitionist views at the time were also majorly in the south, as with the invention of the cotton gin, certain progressives saw that it could cut down on the number of slaves.
Β Β Β And let us all not forget who started the slave trade. North African Muslims, as well as the African warriors from opposing tribes. Hell, Muslims would sell white people to other Muslims as slaves. People forget about the horrendous failure of the French Children's Crusade. Some 30,000 French children and few adults marched to Italy, hoping that the seas would part like Moses and the Red Sea, and be able to go and conquer the Holy Land. Sadly, however, the children were tricked by several merchants when the miracle didn't take place, and were sold into slavery.
