Description
Real quick sketch of two characters I've come up with, set in a pseudo-seventies universe. This is Jim and Petal. Not sure what I wanna do with them yet, but any suggestions will be taken on board and considered.

I was thinking that, but then was afraid it'd too cliched, thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks anyway, I have the same problem, whenever I try to write anything I just end up abandoning it and drawing more pictures - dammit I need to find a writer - I'm getting nothing done this way.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I can see things happen in my head, with characters that I draw, but I can never seem to put them in words that transfer exactly what I see. In my Art class, we are sooner or later, doing a short comic, writen, drawn, and everything, and Im like oh shit, I cant write too well so Amazing art, shitty story is defently going to happen there...

I once started a short comic based on the characters from my Steampunk Fairytale piece [link] and it had no dialogue, just images to tell the story, I never finished it but might revisit it someday - using a storyboard type approach rater than a comic one might be the way to go for you - I dunno' could be worth a try, or you could tell me to sod off!

I really like idea, and thats amazing art btw, but I really really want to use this character [link]
that I designed last year for my class...I was thinking that hes a scientest that finds a way to use plants as a short "continuation" of life, and experiments on himself. Then realizing the isolation or whatever (this is the part Im not too sure about, as in, what happens after hes in his mecunism) burns himself and his notes....but thats all I really got.

I think that story right there would make a cool short strip - you could do something in a period style, maybe sepia -toned or something else to suggest its a history. In the paragraph above you've got at least three pages, with 3 - 6 panels per page - that's a comic! You could probably flesh it out to 6 pages with some more thought and a bit of creative paneling. Go for it, it's the only way to really learn, even if you fail you will have learned so much along the way it will be totally worth it.

Well, thanks for the support! When that project comes up, witch should be after the CD cover one...(I go to a tech school, and Im in Commercial Arts). When Im done, Im sure to put it up though!
I just tend to think big, instead of small steps and get over my head, I have done a page of him though, just as a practice...[link] Dont ask me about the fish, its in a bath room, I thought of fish XD

Yeah that's a great example of how you can make pages from very small concepts, think simple and it will fall into place much easier.
