I never consider myself as an artist who has learned everything,
on the contrary, I believe I'll be learning and understanding all my life,
which is a possitive way to take on a profession, the fun never stops!

Answering specificaly to your question,
I've study in many schools here in Argentina, but, years before I started
working as a professional, I had to teach myself all what the schools ommited
to teach me... So, then I realized that there was a million of unconnected points
in my knowledge...So the hardest work for me in the learning curve, was to understand
that no matter how many teachers/schools I have attended, I did not know all what I needed,
and I couldn't work as a professional yet...

Years later, I found a way to start working in little gigs, and after a while,
I ended understanding how to apply what I knew, in a professional way.
However, I still learning, loving my profession, and letting amaze myself for the
work of other greater artist in this media.

Some steps you may follow:
- Anatomy
- Ho to draw 3 Dimensionals shapes in a 2D medium (paper)
- Anatomy
- Lighting and Shading
- Anatomy
- Perspective (understanding this is critical)
- Anatomy
- Drapery, Foldings, Fabrics
- Anatomy, again..
- Medium techniques (Pencil, Inks, Colors)
- Rendering from Sketch to a Final Medium.

As an addition, you must add knowledge from the real Life
as Architecture, real Objects, Real Machines, Real Weapons, clothes,
fashion, Haircuts, and many more...

All this just as an introduction!
But it looks like just a few steps if you think how lovely this profession
could be!

Thank you!
And yes there are a lot of schools where you can get this kind of skill...
Assuming that my skills are something to be aquired :-P

You have to check that out in your country, because I can sadly
give you only addresses form Argentina, where I am from...

Where are you from?

Thanks for asking!
- Omar.
