Oh um... no offense but I don't ship it. While they both have evil dads, Kaldur is far more honorable and stable than Rose is. Rose is also nothing like Tulah, the girl Kaldur was so very much in love with.
Idk... I guess I've always had trouble shipping pairings that have never interacted before.

No worries, and no offense taken, and this was more actually him being like a handler down her path of redemption when she becomes a new addition to the team

Yeah but he did have a fairly (emotionally) abusive father XD
Anyways, the show Young Justice just took many of Nightwing's leadership and nice guy aspects from the comics and gave it to Kaldur so that they could make Dick look a little more like a jerk in comparison.
But yea, I guess people can bond over evil dads. Though that really is the only thing they have in common.

Nightwing never seemed like a Jerk to me, he seemed not as matured as Robin, which i get given how he acted in Teen Titans from time to time so Aqualad made , particularly since he did not want the role of leadership to stick, once Nightwing was behind the wheel, he did pretty dang good
Also abusive fathers are, (dare I say it) all well and good? But did he really have all that time to be brain washed by him and trained to do wrong in comparison to having to live with a psychotic man who wants the man who raised you dead. Also Nightwing had given up on being a hero at the time, and even in the events of the season finale i don't see that Nightwing doing that.
Secondly their ferve for efficiency, and what he could offer her in finding the balance in restraint and brutality, they just come from similar places.

Nightwing and Rose were always the real opposites to me rather than Aqualad, particularly the Young Justice adaptations of the characters

EdwardX1 In reply to Omnipotrent [2014-10-19 04:27:10 +0000 UTC]
Actually, it was in the comics where they were opposites. Nightwing in the comics is generally the all around nice guy. He's the charmer. He's his father's (Batman) favorite. He's the born leader of all the heroes. He is also her father's arch-enemy.
Well, at least before the New 52 reboot but I normally like to pretend that never happened.
In Young Justice, they focus more on his cold calculating side. Something Rose can relate to more given that her dad is Deathstroke.
I'm not saying I ship them either. As far as my knowledge is concerned, Rose is like Tim's age. So it'd have been weird for Nightwing to date her.
In the comics he was more like her mentor. And if she was in YJ, that'd probably be Aqualad's role as well. I dunno, I just got this vibe that Aqualad is into nice girls. Rose is a good person but she's the "bad girl" amongst her fellow Titans.

I know they are in the comics, I mean that in general but particularly in YOung Justice (the one in which i'm proposing this) Nightwing is the real opposite to Rose , where as I proposed the Aqualad written for Young Justice as more of someone who could reach Rose by being able to relate to her or talk to her on her level without stopping being the upstanding him that he is. He's motivational and firm in his convictions, and if anything is a good show case of how to come out as your own man inspite of your father, which would attract her. Also their relationship would be more on a compadre or handler level, and would be invested in her turning out a better person if she really wanted it, and if anything ever DID happen, it would come from there.

EdwardX1 In reply to Omnipotrent [2014-10-20 15:05:19 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I can see in YJ, that Kaldur would be a mentor or handler for Rose. I just don't see 'em as a couple.
As for Nightwing, in YJ, he's barely the opposite. He's the wise-cracking, but cold and calculated one that has been trained by a strict father figure since he was way too young. In fact, in YJ, I think Rose would basically be like Artemis. And notice that Nightwing was the closest one to Artemis (in a brother like sense). No matter what the version, I was just saying Nightwing is like a big bro to Rose.
I can see Rose getting all horny for Kaldur (like in the comics when she gets all horny for the Robins and then some) but I don't see Kaldur feeling the same way towards her. He just doesn't give that vibe to me.
But this is just my opinion. It's not like the ship is all that far fetched. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if DC tried to tease the ship in the comics (I mean they did just recently tease Jason Todd with Super Girl... ugh). And you make some good points about their daddy issues being something they have in common.

Omnipotrent In reply to EdwardX1 [2014-10-20 21:06:54 +0000 UTC]
Right, I get that, and the ship is far more of an over time thing likened to the "i hate you, and I hate you" ship that Artemis and Kid Flash had. Now I mean that in the sense that it wasn't right away, and was gradual, as opposed to similar character types.
The other place their ship came from, was her realizing that he genuinely wanted her to succeed, but in the right way for the right reasons, as where those involved in her life were always invested in her success for what she hated.
Kaldur I saw as liking her back in so far that he liked and respected the warrior in her, as there being a bit more of a code to her than Artemis who was a rogue and knave, even if an honorable one.
Away from the ship though, I remember disliking the finale episode they came up with, so i created one that was less centric towards ending the series as a whole.

Well he did do his role flawlessly in the face of death and his father...that took allot, and wouldn't have worked with out him. Also, the one praising him was Vandal freaking Savage

EdwardX1 In reply to Omnipotrent [2014-10-25 04:24:22 +0000 UTC]
No. Kaldur DEFINITELY did deserve the praise he got. I just think Nightwing didn't deserve the disrespect.
The way Vandal Savage praised him I didn't really take it as much because as far as he knew, Kaldur WAS the mastermind behind the ploy. Really, Nightwing was, and if Savage knew that, he'd have praised Nightwing because it's that type of planning that Savage respects.
It's the way the team bashed on Nightwing but praised Kaldur. I was expecting Kaldur to defend Nightwing but he only seemed to praise Nightwing when no one was around.

Also post being booted from the Team, the Roy Harper who becomes Arsenal is watching the heroes getting their praise from the media on TV outside a TV store. The Reach are being allowed to leave, and Lex of course is getting away scott free, and Roy thinks its disgusting.
Then he feels someone watching him from an alley , and hears someone asking him if he's done watching from the side because of people with sticks shoved up way to far to do anything of worth, and if he's tired of seeing people like Luthor and the Light and the Reach getting away clean because of the imperative of being the better man....people to proocupied with playing the hero to actually do what it takes to be heroic....
And when they reveal themselves its Red Hood, Starfire, and Kid Devil who then asks how he feels about being an "Outlaw"

Omnipotrent In reply to EdwardX1 [2014-11-08 03:59:05 +0000 UTC]
Well they if anything RESCUE Raven from a cult (which of course serves her father) and they don't know that she's the daughter of who they worship, and think her simply one of many hostages. She's around the same age as Garfield so he befriends her and helps try to figure out why they're after and helps her with some inner demons.
I remember I wanted Mal Duncan to be Cyborg (And I know he's Victor Stone) but he was introduced the way I wished Vic was, so to rectify that basically I had it where the team is exploring a ship that Cadmus had...."lost" on another planet with sensitive information aboard. While exploring it, and meeting some of Darksieds minions for the first time, they meet an A.I. with personality (in so far that he speaks to them through the ship, and he guides them through the ship to get what they need to.
But Zatanna is certain she senses a soul in the ship, as if the ship had a heart. Red Tornado objects that is not possible just as how her magic cannot sense one in him. Later they discover the A.I. is not an A.I. but Victor Stone, the son of the captain and leading science officer of the ship.
In the fight they had that marooned them on the moon they were on, the ships mainframe A.I. was damaged and all means of auto pilot were shot.
Victor was injured on a mission due to a miscalculation by his father, and he was driven to correct the mistake and took apart their most sophisticated android body and built it around him to sustain him like a prosthesis life support chamber...that was his body. Doing so and working on it meant not tending to his own wounds, but also meant he saved Victor's life in time.
Victor realized that there was nothing he could do, but make sure his crew men and father didn't die in vain, so he went to the control hub (heart of the ship), and integrated himself into it's mainframe as it's A.I. This way the ship could keep it going so that it could defend itself and the cargo inside...doing so made him forget most of who he was, and he honestly believed he was an A.I.
With the Zeta beam technology in hand and the place collapsing (of course) they get him out of the heart of the ship, and portal out of there.
Back on earth he comes to the knowledge that his dad is long dead, along with his friends, his crew members. They tell him that they will help him get on his feet as much as they can, if anything they're a family made of just that.

Omnipotrent In reply to EdwardX1 [2014-11-08 07:11:43 +0000 UTC]
So yeah that'd be Victor's introduction. He's thankful to Nightwing for making sure they got out with the cargo in hand, and to Zatanna for trying to get him out when he didn't believe her, and if anything befriends her and Dick primarily through out the rest of the story.
Also Kid Flash meets Orion who rescues him from an Apocalypse ravaged world, and learns of a threat coming to Earth from Darksied who has been patient and now seeks to make his move.
That and there'd be an Episode just dedicated to Mr. Mxyzptlk fucking with the YJ group
