the cool fall air, the falling leaves
here is a story, that I must tell you, please
a story long ago
of a boy gone wrong
not knowing in life where he did belong
he grew up strong
stubborn and tough
a wall of rock
protecting inside of him
what many hurt the most

tired and broken
he hid it away
swore that not another day
would he hurt anymore
he promised his mother
he would not become his father
he kept on fighting
and trying to believe
that out there was a girl
that would bring him to his knee's

she would be smart and sweet
kind and caring
a mother by nature, her beauty breath taking
and her voice would melt his heart
he would open up his soul
and let down those walls
because she is the one
and she was finally found

bound by their love, commitment and faith
driven by destiny and guided by fate
so he held her hands
as she held his heart
how happy they both were
to be no longer apart
pieces of the puzzle finally complete
at one another's side, forever will they be
they value each other, they value this life
forever will they brighten one another's day
and forever will this story end
