What did you use for the tube-y type round bits? Just wondring... I'd like to try some mods soon and I figured you'd be the one to ask ;

Half-A-Star [2010-10-19 19:53:02 +0000 UTC]

Found the pic!! How do you acheive the effect of the mottled vein thing, like a plague is moving through his body. Almost like porcelain cracks. Do you know what I mean? I'm getting a Soom Beyla soon and really want to attempt that effect on her shoulder. Any advice?

onegreyelephant In reply to Half-A-Star [2010-10-23 21:02:57 +0000 UTC]

sure--I just use dried pastel and watercolour pencils. Thats all it is! just use lots of soft patchy layers to make it mottled and draw the veins with a sharp pencil. ^_^

Freaking awesome. =]
Question, though--where do you get all of those little parts, like the gears and such? I'm looking to make something for my doll with little pieces like that, but I can't seem to find them...

onegreyelephant In reply to Digital-Twilight [2010-02-02 11:15:04 +0000 UTC]

I smash up dead watches ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Digital-Twilight In reply to onegreyelephant [2010-02-03 06:44:03 +0000 UTC]

I tried that...but maybe it has to be old watches? All the ones I tried were newer, and had computer chips instead of nifty parts inside...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

onegreyelephant In reply to Digital-Twilight [2010-02-03 10:12:29 +0000 UTC]

yeah-- you need the older ones. some newer ones mix good bits with plastic bits...but older ones are the best. Or more expensive ones...
