Description
This is one of my favorites from the entire year. It's kinda simple... but I love the colors. And also the fact that I found some awesome gold-leaf and silver-leaf PENS! So cool. Makes things really easy.Basically, Joan of Arc was 17 when she led the French army and 19 when she was executed. She helped expel the British from France and crowned a king. Kinda makes me feel a little unaccomplished.
At first, I had no idea what to do with the picture. I drew Joan and then was stuck so I did some research. Apparently there is no surviving portrait she actually sat for (all the others are artists' imagination) so I had perfect excuse to do what I want. lol. Another fact was that all the armor she wore was donated to her. So... I tried to play that out by having her wear very little armor and simple outfits. She also was made a saint several years later and is the great hero of France. So, I made the background into a stain glass and put soldiers holding shields that have the French flag colors. Kinda hard to see unfortunately.... oh well.
Hope you like.
