The gaze is most important point of expression. Eyes are central part of a face for expressions (when I say eyes it mean eyebrows too).
The mouth is used to accentuate or give a touch, something else behind the expression, it's...

Aaa, forget it, really don't have the english "level" for explain this.

i wish i could draw anthros. I can't draw canines cus the noses are too different for me. maybe you should make a tutorial on how to draw canines

You say "eyelids", yet what you refer to I call eyebrows. (the eyebrows not only being the hair, but the entire feature right on top of the eyes that helps us make expressions).

But yeah, pretty cool and helpful. I envy your artsyfartsy skills. Still.
