I LIED! I realized I had so much detail that without color you couldn't see it all and I colored from 3pm till10 pm. Waaaayyy easier then I thought it was going to.**********************************
Sycamore ran all over town looking for her. She was 14 and angry...he could still hear the sting in her voice."What's going to happen to me now!?I have no one!"..... He remembered being so proud of the young trainer. It took 1 year for a young girl to beat the Pokemon League, defeat the Champion, and save his lover Lysandre from himself and his out of focus ideals. She gave him back the part of his heart he didn't know was gone. So when the day came that her mother Melody showed up with tickets to her up coming Rhyhorn race he was surprised, but happy to take them. She was retired, but they asked her and several other retired racers to do an opening ride for their special games. He had sat beside Calypso through it all. The joy of the race begging, the cheering crowd as her mother took the lead, and the horror and sheer terror at the sight of her losing control of her Rhyhorn. They watched as the massive creature went flying after another Ryhorn ran into it's already out of control self. Her mother was thrown into a nearby track wall and the Ryhorn soon after killing her instantly. He remembered the sent of popcorn and cotton candy....the sounds of children laughing the moment before...how his feet stuck to the ground below due to soda pop residue...but at that moment everything went dark...one minute he was with Calypso in the stands the next he and the young trainer were riding in an ambulance with her screaming and crying for her mother to wake up. The attendees knew she was gone, but they still tried for Calypso's sake.
It had been a quiet lovely funeral. Calypso harbored no ill will towards her mother's Rhyhorn, who still cries and roars to emptiness hoping to hear his masters voice again. She took on the Ryhorn and Fletching her mother had left behind. He was so impressed by her stamina until he got word that the Child services would be taking her away. He had wondered where her father was. He arrived to try to get some answers and had brought Lysandre with him in hopes of calming the girl enough to talk because the CPS official had been trying to get er out of her room for hours. He heard her scream at the official. "What's going to happen to me now!?I have no one!" He begged the official for a moment with the young one. Lysandre went ahead to distract the official for the time being asking what would become of the girl, where would she go, why her father wasn't here...etc. When he was able to get a reply out of Calypso she told him her father had died when she was 8 in a work accident at his construction site, and now with her mom gone and no living relatives she was alone. She had done all this, but was alone. He went to speak with the official beside Lysandre about what the protocol was for adopting a child like her. The official had said something about paperwork, due process, time, money, responsibility, etc. He did not want to hear a word about the logistics when the official took the tone of a patronizing git. He told Lysandre to have them call the officiate in charge and mention 'Professor Sycamore was willing to take on Calypso as his adoptive daughter." Lysandre merely raised an eyebrow and shot the official a look. He had walked back to where Calypso had hold herself up into, but he heard the wind from the door and a breeze from under the crack tickling at his pant leg. He gave the door a firm shove and popped it open to find she had climbed out the window. He told Lysandre to stay put and sort out the adoption issue and had taken off at a sprint through the town. He received a call from Cassius about Calypso taking out more then the allotted amount of Pokemon from the box system. She had hacked it...a smart one she is.
He veered around corners and alleys and searched by the waters edge and to the small forest outside of town. That's where he found fresh Rhyhorn tracks. He released his Charmander to give some light and to ward off any wild Pokemon. He knew where she was going now. He sent Lysander a holo explaining what was going on and where he was going. When he arrived at the cemetery, most people never knew it even was there, he found her hugging her knees surrounded by some of her best friends. The Rhyhorn cried and her Chesnaught laid an arm on her softly while the others mourned with her. Her father and mother's graves stood alone under a large tree. Charmander felt the others' sadness and curled up under his masters feet. Sycamore let her grieve there for a long time. When Lysandre caught up he had at least some semblance of good news. The head officiate pushed the paperwork through in record time and eve cut out some of the middle man, partially because of the professors long good standing position and reputation amongst the media and region. He was now the legal guardian of one Calypso. He saw her glance over with a weak smile and she mouthed 'thank you' to him. He smiled back and let her grieve a while longer while he explained Lysandre would finally have to sleep in the same room as him because they had a new guest.

Wow... I'm sorry you hate doing backgrounds, but honestly, you did a wonderful job! The background is actually my favorite thing about this picture (though I do love the Poke'mon and people too)... those hills in the background are so lovely and seem like they could go on forever....
