UPDATE: I finally did it! I made this a playable game. Check out how and download the rules for yourself: youtu.be/f4zPhUm6BHg
Phew! I wanted to finish this monster-heavy piece before Halloween, and I did. So yay me. I've had cryptids on the brain lately, so I decided to redraw this old piece that a lot of people seemed to enjoy: www.deviantart.com/operaghost2… I always feel like I haven't improved much as an artist, then I redo an old picture like this and I feel a little bit better. It doesn't hurt that I'm a lot more comfortable looking up reference pictures for different things.
Now you may be wondering, why do I have cryptids on the brain? Well, in case you've missed me shamelessly mentioning it in every post around here, my friends and I have started a fiction audio series about cryptozoology, The Cryptid Cases! We've got three episodes out already (and look for the fourth on Halloween!) and we're hard at work finishing the first season. If you are a fan of cryptids, all but one of these will appear on the show in the future (and two have already appeared!), and I really think you'll enjoy it! They won't necessarily look like this (gotta keep a little bit of mystery), but those are minor details.
If you're awesome and think the show sounds up your alley, you can listen here (as well as find exclusive supplemental artwork by yours truly) www.littlegiantmonsters.com/th…

You should do a follow up to this. I mean no Loch Ness, Winged Cat, Bunyip, or Loveland Frog?

Loveland Frog is in there! I probably won't do a follow-up to this, but I am working on cryptid pics pretty regularly! www.littlegiantmonsters.com/th…

Haha, you're wicked good at this! I can easily imagine any or all of those characters in an illustrated book or anywhere, really! Your work is really quite superb! And congrats on getting those episodes out! You're doing great work!

Aww thank you so much! My dream is definitely to make a monster field guide type of book at some point down the road.

Oh awesome! I knew about the cryptids on the brain, but I wasn't expecting a remake of this- very cool! What was the impetus for making this version of Kasai Rex a spinosaurid?

Hahah thank you! I'd pictured Kasai Rex as something of a suchomimus since the beginning (even though it really doesn't look like it in the first picture). I think the idea was that Kasai was an African theropod, and spinosaurs were also African theropods, so it made sense. Plus I've always had a soft spot for suchomimus, and I figured it'd be a little more exciting than just a plain old t rex.
