I think it's a little funny that in my four years of diagramming origami (almost all computer-drawn), the quality of the line drawings hasn't improved that much, partly because I infrequently make them. I do, however, work faster and more precisely.
One thing I did as a stylistic choice in my recent diagrams that many paper folders would think in poor taste is to leave out almost all of the folding direction arrows. They're usually redundant if you check the next step for what should happen next. When someone doesn't know the language of the captions, arrows can be very useful in interpreting the folds. However, the audience for this and my other recent diagrams is almost entirely English-speaking so that's not a real concern.
