Next update is free for those who are buying this 1st release and they will have a 50% discount within the second update. These updates will be quite substantial by including tens of new items. I'll be also taking free requests to a certain degree from those who bought this and want other items in the next update or from those that have in mind to do so if certain items will be added. This set is the ultimate collection of high quality custom tiles for Windows 10 StartMenu. Although the design fits the style and proportions of the current Windows 10 default tiles they can be safely used for Windows 8/8.1 as well. This set contains 500 custom tiles in PNG format in both Medium or Wide format (512x512 and 1028x512) for all sorts of software from consumer oriented and home use software to proffesional or/and enterprise applications. The preview image displays just a part of them and in a lower quality than the actual tiles . In order to see the full list check this Screenshot To add these custom tiles on Windows 10 start menu you will need and app or/and an utility. There are quite a few out there but I cant really recommend them since they might not work (well) after windows 10 updates. I recently tried this one www.win10controller.com/better… . Hi Orphydian,
I like your icon set for Win 10 ("Windows 10 Modern UI Tile Set Updated") and would like to buy. Please, allow me some questions first:
1. Honestly, I do prefer a bit more the previous set for Win 8 ("Web and Software Dev |Windows 8 Modern Tile Set") due to the bigger pictures. Is there the Win 10 set available also with the bigger pictures inside of the tiles, or I need to opt for either the old Win 8 or the new for Win 10?
2. I cannot download the Tile Creator app. All I get is error "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found." Any advice why or any suitable alternative available to put the tiles correctly into the Start Menu? I'm running the newest Win 10 Creator version 1703, build 15063.413.
3. Can some more tiles be added? I miss e.g. Private Internet Access, some nice icons for Online Banking, ToDo List, some games like Doom, Tomb Raider, Metro 2033 / 2034...

you can crop more of their background and the gliph will display bigger and youll not noticed any quality lost since they already have decent resolution
indeed those havent seen to be updated anymore. There are other utilities that used to work out there but I cant really recommend using those.
I tried one that has a Windows 10 store app.

but its not free 2.99 $ and like most of these apps has some limitation. It comes in 2 parts (an app and an utility) For example you have to keep this utility (which is portable so no need to install it) running in the background to launch a given program from the tile you just created.

yup the ratio between the glyph (white symbol) and the colored background. For windows 10 the glyphs are smaller. Also Ive updated some of the icons from the old windows 8 sets. Nevertheles this set is so much bigger and it will be further supported and updated.

Already have the Python tile from the previous sets (like most of the programing lnaguages ) but havent included it since its not a software/app but I cant handle it to you individually.

Does this set have to have the colored backgrounds, or is there a transparent PNG that allows us to select the background color? For instance, if we want all icons to have the same color background, using the theme color from Windows itself.

The app that adds custom tiles doesnt support this kind of general color. You can tweak the colors of any tile in any image editing program which has a hue/saturation option.

Illustrator. How do you export your images. At what resolution? Screen, medium or high? Art optimized or type optimized as antialiasing? Interlaced or not?
Anyway Ive changed the preview with the medium exported image. Its 6823x6542 now. There is still fozzyness.

So what I do is save for web and then export as a PNG-24, that usually gives nice crisp, smooth quality to the image and it should let you make it whatever size you want without losing clarity (unless the images are already raster. If so, the image size needs to stay at 100%). Here are the settings I use for my icons: sta.sh/0252t6vydkw4

the actual tiles are raster. Ive juts placed them in a grid Ive made in illustrator. Hmmm I have to double click when placed them on the artboard to keep the initial size right? Hmm I havent done that because I could have get a huge file to work with. Unless there is a fast way to add your raster images in the grid without placing each of them I dont think Im willing to start over with 300 items lol.
I "saved them for web" as they were now the image size is half the size. The fozzyness its not that bad anymore. I suppose if the tiles wwere added to the original resolution would ahve been perfect. Thanks.
