Notes: So here is a shot showing the derringers. I'm holding it up pretty tight here, when it was held in the right angle it looked like I had a lot more than this. They are actually water pistols spray painted and weathered by hand - I ebayed 30 of these in bulk for cheap. The pleather was the hugest pain to sew onto the satin, my biggest worry was it would either pull awkwardly as I walked, or actually rip through the satin. But that never happened. I'm happy it turned out well.

How clunky were the pistols in terms of weighing down the satin? Did your neck hurt after? I'm attempting to find waterpistols on the cheap do this cosplay but its so hard. TT^TT

For me, not at all. I had thought the satin might tear with the weight, but the pistols were so light it had no trouble. It didn't pull strangely or get in the way at all. I went online and bought them in bulk, try ebay, it's always been my best friend.

Really great cosplay ^_^ I'm actually planning on cosplaying as Meryl this year, and it's awesome to see that you took the time to do the guns and everything. I was also thinking of using the water guns. Did you have any problem with them at the con?

Thank you! If by problem you mean getting them into the con for security reasons? These guns were totally detachable just in case they were not allowed - but honestly the cape hid them all very easily. A note on making them detachable - secure them really really well somehow! Mine kept falling out. The other thing was that these particular guns had detachable caps to indicate they were fake but I couldn't be bothered carrying them around. Do make sure to check the rules at your convention and also your country/state. This particular convention in Melbourne did not check meticulously, but some will.

Thanks! They were the hardest part of the outfit so I really appreciate the comment. Actually, I've seen people go for all fifty of the pistols - I think twenty was heavy enough! Lol. People still got quite a surprise when I lifted the cape up because it wasn't obvious from the outside.

We were looking for Vash and Wolfwood for both days, and would you believe it, not a one in sight! When does that ever happen?? Anyway we were very sad so we gave our donuts away to various people with red coats (actually this was kind of hilarious) asking if they were Vash.
