These shots are amazing, you certainly have a talent. Do you mind me asking what kind of filter you put on to get the border and retro effect - its very cool

wow thanks so much. it's all photoshoped. just a combination of colour balance and levels adjustment layers really. with a "dirty" layer on top.
glad you like it!

Great idea, and photo. Are they tire tracks in the foreground? They seem a little distracting.

yes, they were tire tracks. but i'm not sure where they came from, that beach was seriously in the middle of nowhere, a stunning place. thanks for the feedback, but personally i actually like the way they seem to balance out the composition and provide texture to the foreground. that is of course, just my opinion .

Yeah it definetely is a great location. It is really interesting how your style is consistent, but you are broadening your subject.
I can see what you mean. Sometimes happy accidents like the tire tracks can really add to the image.

Stunning photo indeed. I love your style, it's reminds me of Eolo Perfido and is exactly how I would like my gallery to look. Minimalistic and small but still says a lot. The atmosphere you have with the vinjetting, textures and colors is amazing. Please, tell me how you make those results? Where to find those textures and how to modify colors like that. I think I have to feature you and your work in my next journal.

thanks again Joonas. yea, i've always been fascinated by minimalism and the power of images with the least amount of elements possible to produce a complete composition. i have a pretty basic tutorial at the bottom of this journal entry... [link] which may help you produce similar photoshop effects. and thanks very much, i would greatly appreciate the journal feature.

i think it's all digi made... and i like it. but the faked informations shouldn't be on the side... if you use a 6x6, you don't turn it by 90° and take your shot. just doesn't make sense.

I really like all of
the subtle effects you
put on your photos. it's very
nice and adds a lot to it. great border.
anyway. this is very nice. and I think ina way the tire-tracks in the sand kindof add to it. Maybe representing the impression things leave, or the marks of someones past. Great image, anyhow. XD I'll stop babbling now.
(great discription too. I'm reading a book at the moment that kindof defies the quote though, it's called 'Flowers for Algernon'.) okay, I swear I'm done. ; p

thanks so much i'm glad you noticed the tire tracks, for me that really is an essential element in this one.
I think i may have to check out that book
(and no worries about the babbling, babbling is great )
