Orta 'Rakomee has been having a pretty miserable time ever since he set foot on Alpha Halo, thanks to a certain parasite. Though now he and Tor are having a quiet moment to rest while they await the rest of their team to come back to this bunker. Hopefully the supplies that are brought back will be of enough use to help them all survive this ring, and the threats that exist on it.Related content

Well I'm just saying from a medical point if they could destroy a sentinel, they can pull out its beam weapon a cauterize the wound shut. Especially considering if flood are present a single cut, a single flood spore is all it takes to become a shambling flood abomination

Probably. Tried looking up what they might use instead but couldn't find anything. As an on-the-spot excuse, I'll just say that they didn't have access to their usual equipment, but had some dinky UNSC supplies near by.
