An idea I recently had and finally managed to squeeze out of my head...

It's all done in Photoshop, part stocks, part digital painting. Some of the JPEG mosaics visible in the background were part of the original and the resolution was also determined by it. Still one of the best stock backgrounds I've seen to date!
