I've always wanted to draw bird people, but could never get the hang of it.

Hey thanks for the compliment!Β The idea of drawing a bird is to imagine that you are drawing an incredibly large nose (usually in cone or hooked shape) in front of the face template. Studying the skulls of birds and understanding the angles with references are helpful! Although I am still figuring other angles of drawing Washimi..Β Β Β Β

Hmm, I would recommend that you find more real life reference that Rito (BotW) is based on. Birds like falcon, parrots, eagles are some of the inspiration that made the Rito races in BoTW! Always understand real life reference before going to draw your own style, although I am still bad at it!

Yeah, that's how I started to draw cats, which I'm not even close to mastering.
