There is a large percentage of our population who identify with one side or the other on the political continuum. Liberal/Conservative, Republican/Democrat. They pick a side and insulate themselves from the other by choosing to watch a biased cable news channel, only vote for their chosen party etc, and spew out the same political doctrine they heard from others like them. If you ever read any of the message boards under some of the more controversial political articles on Yahoo and other news sources, you'll see just how divided our country is right now. If we are all fighting for the most extreme version of what we want, we'll never make progress...hence a gridlocked congress. We've been this way since 2000 and probably even earlier than that. I also believe that the majority of these people are ignorant to the fact that most of what they encounter on television and in the world related to politics is some form of propaganda. I don't believe that either side is 100% right or wrong and progress lies in compromise so I'm designing an experience where people will come into the gallery and be directed toward their chosen political side. They will encounter a continuum of propaganda images going from extreme to moderate as they make their way toward the center of the continuum depending on which side they start. At first they will encounter sentiments that they largely agree with based on the stereotypical political philosophy associated with the viewer's chosen political doctrine. In the middle, they will encounter 11 posters explaining the techniques of propaganda. It will be a brief educational experience but probably more than they've had up to that point. As they move toward the opposing side of the continuum, they will then encounter ideas and imagery that they would have largely ignored or insulated themselves from, but they will do so with at least a new level of exposure to the mechanisms of propaganda that they didn't have before. I don't expect it to change much or to make an immediate difference, but maybe it will reach one or two people and they might take an interest and begin doing work as well toward spreading knowledge of propaganda. That is hoping against hope to be sure but I believe that movements are accompanied by art, not based on Art. Art will not change anything by itself but getting enough people to start thinking again could lead to something great. I'm sure other artists out there are doing stuff like this with the same goal so I'm just adding my little part. This infographic is just my plan for how the exhibition will look when it is complete. Does that make sense?

Nevermind, I bit the bullet and uploaded at a higher res. You should be able to download at 150 dpi now and see the text. The little star thingies at the bottom are color schemes based on how much variety can be achieved with them. The ones with the most variety will be the most on settling and so as you move from intense to moderate, the colors become more soothing as well. I'll also be doing the same thing with the other elements of design. Very angular shapes, etc on the extremes and gradually using more soothing curvy organic shapes as you move toward the center.
Thanks for checking it out bro.

Hey Jeremy,
I tried to make it bigger, but this is the best I am getting. My hiatus from DA left me a little discombobulated on how to upload things and where to put them when they are uploaded. You have any tricks to make this clearer aside from uploading at a higher res.
