ARC Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter==================================
The Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter, also known as the ARC-170 starfighter and Advanced Recon fighter, was a heavy starfighter/bomber that saw widespread use by the Republic Navy in the later days of the Clone Wars.
It was an ancestor of the T-65 X-wing starfighter, which would be mainly used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

I've always associated this starfighter with a German Stuka bomber plane. 3 guys operating the plane One for piloting an machine gun fighting, the second operating the bombs and plotting course and a third guy to protect the back.
On one hand we might wonder why the hell was it decomissioned by the empire? Perfect war machine to fight large ships and smaller fighter units.
But then again, one might assume its a bit too big and heavy, and needs a lot of crew + an astro-droid. The rebellion probably used the design for themselves and slimmed it up to cut the costs of crew, production and manouverability, a tool of swift hit&run attacks.
