What inspired you to add only these bits of colors to the artwork'? Like the hair. Considering how rough you drew it, it looks really good. the picture feels heavy because how close he holds her.
I dont get why he looks away though, with eyes closed it would have an intense amosphere.

Wow, such a thoughtful comment, haha! While I was drawing this, I was going for a "heavier" atmosphere, like you alluded to - a sort of quietly.... fierce (?) feeling of protection. As for the colors, i was trying to convey more dramatic lighting, and I tend towards strong contrast. I'm glad you enjoyed the piece - thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

I love the peaceful feeling in this picture. She is relaxed in her sleep, and undisturbed as she is carried. He is calm, but I see the light of protection in his eyes, as if he's alert to even the slightest sign of danger. Even the colors have a calming, peaceful feel to them.

ohh, these are the characters from those short comics you've done before, right? Where I believe Asahi is narrating and Toki nearly gets run over by a bicycle and they talk about favorite colors? The painting style here is very nice, it's great to see these two recur as well.Β
