Thank you so much! Isn't he adorable?? I named him Franz (after the author, Franz Kafka). I just love these fuzzy caterpillar guys, they're so fun.

That's so weird, haha!

Oh, he made it fine alright. I had actually kept him on that stick for a good 20 or 30 minutes snapping away, so after our little "photo shoot" I set him back down where I had found him and he crawled on his merry little way.

I'm soo pissed [i'm an english major and reading it for a summer class @ UCSB] because on the first week...the professor gave away stuff i was curious about. The fact that "K." never gets into the castle...and there is NO ending, since it's an unfinished book.

aww, poor thing. he must've been exhausted!!!

Oh yeah, I think Kafka had a lot of unfinished books partly because he thought all of his works were terrible. I only read The Metamorphosis for my european literature class last year, so I don't know anything about that one.

Oh! How is UCSB? I've been looking into colleges to go to next year and have heard some good things about it from a friend who visited it. She said they have a good marine science department, which is something I've been considering going into.

actually, i was told that his dying wish was for his friend to rid/burn his works, but his friend liked it too much and decided to keep it. nice...ignoring his dying wishes.

um, wish i could say, but i go to an off-campus. won't be at the "main" campus till next Jan. but yeah, the campus is gorgeous, right by the ocean!

Haha, yeah it's kinda sad that he totally dissed his dying wish but hey, if he didn't then the literary world would be without a number of classics so oh well.
