Personality:
Summer is a very motherly pony. She always has others in mind before her, and works hard to support both her and her little brother on their little farm. She keeps a rose patch outside their house, but she must keep it small as she's the only one capable of managing the orchards. However, she can be extremely stubborn, sticking to her morals no matter what the consequences. Family means more than anything to her, and tries her best to give her brother a happy life. She can be extremely sarcastic, yet never means to hurt anyone. On occasion, she will pamper herself with hot baths after working hard on the farm. Summer is extremely optimistic, always hoping for the best, even through the worst of times. She secretly hopes that one day, she will find her own very special somepony, and settle down and have children of her own.

History:
Filly Years
Summer grew up in a town in the plains north of Manehattan. Her mother and father were very much in love; and they were expecting their first child. Her father was an apple farmer, directly related to a certain family of Apples residing in Ponyville. Her mother was a florist, once with big dreams, but blinded by love, she decided to move into the peaceful countryside rather than move into the big city. When she gave birth to Summer, she instantly fell in love with her daughter just as much as she loved her husband. Summer was a pampered child, never having to fret about being hungry and always dressed in new dresses.
She never was a social pony, preferring to spend her time alone in the fields. Her mother would always try to encourage her to go outside, but she was a timid child. One day, she decided to try growing flowers, like her mother. She discovered she had a knack for it, and one day, the daughter of a rich business-pony came into town, visiting an old friend of hers. She happened across Summer's small rose patch, outside of the sign of their farm, and instantly fell in love with them. She asked who owned the flowers to a tiny pink filly. That filly was Summer.
"I-it's mine," she squeaked out, awestruck in the presence of the elegant mare. The mare requested that she have some of the flowers in her garden for her wedding bouquet. Summer was reluctant at first, but her mother had noticed her talking to a tall stranger, and without hesitation, accepted the request. The day of the wedding soon came, and of course, Summer had an invitation. It was only after seeing the grand ceremony and how the roses seemed to compliment the mare so well that Summer realized how important her flowers meant to her. When the bells rang at the "I dos," she noticed that her cutie mark had appeared. The reception was full of much festivities and fun, a day Summer would never forget.
Summer's mother was so proud of her, and so was her father. The next few years of her life were full of bliss, opening up more with the other children in town.

Teenage Years
One day, her mother announced to the family that she was pregnant. Summer and her father were overjoyed, however, her mother seemed to not have the same enthusiasm as they did. She moved slower, and her sweet nature slowly grew sour. She gave birth to a young colt, whom they named King Cole. Summer was ecstatic to finally have a little brother, and he kept her distracted from the troubles of her parents. Her mother didn't love Cole as much as she loved Summer, often providing for him only the bare necessities to live. Her father was always working in the fields, never having quality for his wife. She grew impatient, and the few times he would try to connect he wouldn't understand why she would ignore him. They never were able to patch their relationship together, yet Summer and Cole, as he became known as, stayed oblivious to this and continued to live a carefree life.

Their mother grew distraught, and sick with the farm life, one day, she left the farm for Manehattan. She could no longer bear the pain of fighting with their father, and didn't have the patience to work it out. Summer didn't understand, and her father became a workaholic to try to take the pain off of his broken heart. As far as the children knew, she had gone "on vacation" and would be returning soon. One night, her father wandered off into the river nearby, and the the two never heard from him again. Cole thought he was going off to make money for the family, but Summer finally realized what had happened. Every night she would cry under the comfort of the moon, hoping that one of her parents might make it home one day. Her wishes might have been in vain, but she tried to put up a brave front for her brother, playing along with the charade of a happy family.

Present
She managed to finish her schooling, but decided against going to college. She had to stay home and take care of her brother. She had grown into a pretty mare, and had no trouble getting others to help around the farm. The fruit of her labor was the sweetest in the town, each tree given extra tender love and care. She received an invitation from her cousin Applejack for the last family reunion, unfortunately, she was too busy to make it. Cole occasionally talks with his cousin Applebloom and plays games online with her friends Sweetie Belle and Button Mash. She loves her brother very much, and tries to make life seem as perfect as possible for him. She works hard on the farms, even though the possibility of foreclosure looms upon their family. After all, she is only one pony. She may not have any special powers or the ability to fly, but she believes that virtue is the strongest magic in the world.
