Description
A little process pic.I’m FINALLY done coloring and shading all my Blade & Soul drawings!!! Hallelujah! Well this was great practice. I’ve got a long way to go to get to Kim’s caliber but I’m one step closer and a bit wiser now. I really learned a lot about corel painter in the process. These are the first drawings I’ve used the program with.
lines in PSCS5, color in Corel Painter 11
[other old info]
I'm working on a really big project right now. Or really it's just fan art of the mmorpg game Blade & Soul. The games character designer is my very favorite artist HyungTae Kim. I just love everything he does!
I watched two trailers for of the game and there were so many characters and monsters I liked so I just had to do some fan art. ^^' And I'm trying to draw and color them like Kim which is challenging. So it's taking some time. I still have to do all the shadows in painter (first time really using the program @~@) and the background.
All of the characters are seen more or less in a few early trailers I found. Character “purple” is drawn almost straight from the trailers, pose and all, and the frog monsters too. But the rest are my own poses and to some extent my interpretation of the character since it was sometimes hard to see how a character actually looked in the trailer (because the video quality wasn’t the best of the character that was shown)

yeah of course is helpful!!! i have a lot of concept art books, i like to watch them a lot and see all the process when they make the character design and it's helps a lot, for example when i'm trying to create a character i get frustrated soon 'cause i'm so bad with the proportions of the human body, it's more easier to me making a 3D render than making the proportions on paper, and watching these books i learned that sometimes the character has a change of 360 degrees when they make the renders.
