I don't know why, but I'd say this is the best of the bunch. Just the focus is exactly right, and the background very complementary to the subject

Thank you. It was hard as hell trying to use my own finger and trying to hold a flashlight with my other hand to get a fast enough shutter AND trying to trip the shutter twice (mirror lock-up). Too much noise in the shots for my liking, but I had to underexpose then push the exposure in post. :\

I can imagine! I'd be inclined to say that your technique worked just right - I didnt really notice the noise until you mentioned it, but that can always be fixed with some good software
