Ok I am working on this thing and i hope it will come out well. although it will be a rather little painting I wanted to really put as much thought as possible in it and that is the start of it.

the whole concept is pretty much, 'What if humans were bred by animals to achieve certain looks like humans breed animals - if it was all turned around?'.
- a thing people might have to consider sometimes.

so, about the sketches,
they're done in my sketchbook and on the first page I sketched various deformed faces, also researching a few actually occuring birth defects and thinking of things that might be something that could be bred (the hairless man for example). I only used men in my sketches because I can easier show how hairy a special breed is with them and their beards. also I want to aim for a 'classic' feeling in the later painting and a man mostly was the representative human in early classic paintings. idk how to proberly explain that .-. I then picked the head-sketches I thought could be fused together well and sketched the 'final' 'Homo deformis' (=basically deformed/ugly human) featuring his body, too.

what's written beneath him in german are the breeds specifications:

• hyperkyphosis
• ectropion (hanging lower lid)
• underbite
• medium hairiness
• bushy eyebrows
• hanging cheeks
• freckles & pigment spots
• high forehead
• close-set eyes
