Wow, you are so off base here that this post discredits all your prior posts as total BS. DA has remained on the cutting edge of web communities. Unlike most other social media platforms, which have largely stagnated over the last decade +. If there are any bugs, that is because they are willing to take these risks, and they get them worked out before long. I have been a core member for over a decade and have spent most of my on-line time here because DA has by far the best features and content the web has to offer. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. Holly crap!

And no, I have no connection to DA or any of it's staff. Just a humble user. You could use some humility. I imagine you will remove my post, since it does not kiss your ass, but if you do that is just another sign of how screwed up you are, and not open to any other ideas. Sheessssss......

You're more than welcome to your opinions and to post them. Seeing as you've attacked me instead of my points, and made false assumptions about me (ie: disagreeing with you makes me "screwed up", assuming i need you to kiss my ass, etc) you have proven yourself incapable of civil discussion. Which I think discredits you, not I.

I respect your right to think as you will, and to express what it is you think. You clearly know less than nothing about me if you think I am in favor of any form of censorship. Your comments will remain untouched, and comment all you desire to.

I see all you can think of here is to be defensive, which thwarts any possibility for growth, since that shows how you are not listening. Perhaps in stead of attacking my character back, as you just did, try to think of this as constructive critism; to see how you may come off to some. Yes, I cannot possibly speak for anyone else here, and I was not suggesting otherwise, but maybe there are others who think similarly, yet had not spoken up. One comment may reflect how 10 other silent observers feel. Do as you wish. It's no skin off my back either way. Pease out.

Ad hominem attacks and constructive criticism are two completely different worlds. One addresses points on a subject, the other seeks to demonize the person for having the perspective that they have. I personally won't even demonize someone for an ad hominem because it would make me an instant hypocrite. I simply view it as their right to admit the truth of how they actually feel.Β

I've learned in life that when someone has their mind made up, there really is no discussing the subject with them. That person is always going to be speaking from a place to where they are unwilling to accept any other view than their predetermined one. You have a predetermined view about me. I respect that, you reserve the right to do so, I don't reserve the right to claim you're not allowed.

The only thing in this world I can control, is myself. So for myself, I personally deem it a waste of time to attempt to discuss things with the walls. Furthermore, it would be a waste of your time as well. You're not going to get the outcome you're looking for, and clearly that outcome would be for me to change my perspective to match yours.Β

I would suggest that if your true intention is to educate someone and expand their personal growth, that personal attacks, accusations and assumptions are not the thing to lead with. I think it would likely be fair to presume that if someone came to you and started their conversation similarly, that you would not perceive it as an attempt on their part to educate you, and I'm sure you would not think that they cared about your personal growth.

Deviantart Eclipse report.
- Have the viewer count and activity increased since it started being used?
- Or has it diminushed?
- Are there plans to reverse course if the latter is correct?

Thank you for your response!

While Wix likely have such an outlook, there can very well be others on deviantart that does not know that this could be a thing, including some who have some influence. It would be a real shame if some anons were to tell them a few things...

I also wonder if there isn't an ulterior motive to what is going on at DA.Β  How can they make any money if they don't sell paid accounts (I'm certainly not going to pay if there is no customization) and no adds?Β  Don't tell me they will make money on their share of art sales.Β  I used to sell my art but I haven't sold a piece except to my sister since this whole Eclipse crap started.Β  I know other artists whose profits are way down in the last year or two.Β  Β Β

I personally feel that Wix wants to destroy deviantART, and it has the power and money to do it without taking a loss. Think of it as being kind of like war. Sure, all the money you spent on the bombs to obliterate your target literally go up in smoke, but: did you get what you paid for? Yes, you did.

I think that Wix also feels that what they are turning deviantART into through it's destruction will have some sort of automatic, built-in, new woke userbase from which it will make money. It is basically the CBS-Paramount mistake.

Some folks over at CBS wanted to destroy classic Star Trek and replace it with "Woke Trek", a mediocre watered down and otherwise worthless Star Trek which rides on purely "good special effects" but beyond that has no real creativity or talent put into it. A Star Trek designed for a dumbed-down audience who does not care about quality and will pretty much think everything produced is good, simply because CBS is virtue signaling it as being good.

This has been a FAILED STRATEGY.

CBS is hemorrhaging money so badly that their investment backers are on official record stating to them and I quote: "UNFUCK THIS MESS!"

This is also why we have not seen a Star Trek: 4 Kelvin Timeline movie and why if they don't unfuck the mess, there won't ever be one.

To the best of my knowledge, they are attempting to unfuck the mess by taking various elements of prime timeline, tossing them together with the story line of the temporal cold war and making Star Trek: discovery the culmination point and which then becomes the birth place of the Kelvin timeline. This is also why Star Trek: Picard might actually end up being good.

Now if it all goes down like this and gets unfucked, it won't be because the people in charge actually care about Star Trek. It is because they over reached, fucked up, got themselves into deep shit and are desperately digging themselves out of a massive hole. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is also so far suspected of being a similar sort of damage control.

So I think that Wix may be placing deviantART into a similar "Get Woke, Go Broke" situation.Β

Man, do I understand what you mean by CBS.Β  What a messed up network.Β  I don't have cable and we live too far away from the nearest broadcast towers to get CBS by antenna.Β  My husband and I are football fans.Β  The only way we could watch the Superbowl this last year was to subscribe to CBS Now, which really sucked and made a large uproar with the fans.Β  We have HULU live and can watch any major non-pay-for-view sports major event, except that.Β  Twitter was full of angry comments about CBSΒ  cutting HULU viewers out, which I think they did to push us to take CBSNow.Β  We did subscribe to the free 7 day use in order to watch the Superbowl, and while we had it watched the first Star Trek Discovery episode.Β  It was so bad we promptly cancelled the subscription before we had to pay for it.Β  CBS is so greedy they deserve to be in turmoil.Β  From what I understand (although I could be wrong) the backlash was so strong that there will be free streaming of the SB this year.Β Β

Same goes with Star Wars and their last horrible SJW movie.Β  I wish I could unsee that awful film and I will be very much cautious of paying money for the next one.Β  It's my understanding that they have scrambled to make this last movie more in the image of the first three.Β  We shall see.Β  Disney honestly needs to reboot their decision making process before they screw up other franchises.Β  In my eyes they also screwed up the Jim Henson/Muppet franchise with their failed TV show last year.Β Β

I agree with you about Wix, but I think it's backfiring.Β  Almost everyone that I watch and many more judging by the comments literally hate even the idea of Eclipse, and adding a couple of things people have been asking for doesn't make up for what they are trying to do to the DA community as a whole.Β  Β  Β Β

For the most part I agree with you, though when it comes to Star Wars I have a different perspective than the people who are for it, or the people who are against it.

Though Rae could have been written much better than she was, I fully disagree with the claim that she is a "mary sue". A mary sue is someone who is automatically perfect at everything. Rae was extremely "force clumsy".

She had a lot of powerful innate force capabilities (Anikan did as well, if we recall), but due to lack of discipline and training, she was the force empowered version of Jar Jar binks.

Everything she was able to do, was by pure accident and she was extremely clumsy while doing it.

The only reason she wasn't destroyed effortlessly by Kilo Ren in 5 seconds during their light saber dual, is because he was "pulling his punches". He was either trying to recruit her, get laid or both. Plus, the planet was falling apart around them. She got in a lucky strike on him only because he was distracted. There was literally no other reason.

A mary sue is also someone who is always saving the day. With Rae, everyone else was always having to bail her out. Michael Burnum on ST is a mary sue. She is always saving the day. Rae is a force clumsy naive moron with zero discipline.Β

Even Luke Skywalker did not get as #triggered when experiencing force visions as Rae. His experience in the cave on degobah, for example. He was startled but he wasn't so "omg omg omg ahhhh!" as Rae was when she had similar encounters with the force. In the second movie, even Luke identified Rae as a complete twit. He didn't want to train her and when he tried, she was a complete idiot about it. This is not a mary sue archetype anymore than Jar Jar Binks was.

Jar Jar was only promoted to Bombard General because he proved his loyalty. That was his only redeeming quality.

The first two movies were generally good, minus some of the terrible writing and some obvious mistakes that could have been avoided, should have been avoided, but were not avoided.

The hug with Lea and Rae should have been a group hug with Lea, Rae and Chewy. Brushing Chewy aside was bad writing.

With that one character (I forgot her name) that was a friend of Han Solo, I like that we finally get to see what a Jawa looks like under that hood. Because for anyone paying close enough attention, there were subtle reveals that she is in fact, a Jawa.

How Solo died and the fact that he was killed before he could have one last adventure with Luke, was also bad writing. Not so bad that it "killed Star Wars" but it was a missed opportunity.

The bombing scene near the beginning of the second movie, had one critical error. They should have defined the bombs as being "magnetic" or having some sort of ability to lock onto a target. Instead, they made it into a London Blitz drop as if somehow there was gravity in space.

The biggest plot hole of the second movie, was the hyperspace kamikaze scene. If it was this easy, they wouldn't be making ships that are such huge targets and they wouldn't have made a target so big as the Death Star. They also could have destroyed Star Killer Base in this way. So this scene creates a massive plot hole and if there are ever special edition releases of Disney Star Wars in the future, the plot holes need to be corrected.

We have gotten to the point of technology that even the fans can correct Star Wars if it is the only way its going to get corrected. I'll give you a practical example:Β  www.youtube.com/watch?v=to2SMn…

If you also check then channel that this video comes from, there is also behind the scenes video showing how they made the video you're about to watch.
