This flower is indigenous to Southern Africa and the photograph was taken in the hot/dry biome of the Eden Project in Corwall where it was doing extremely well.Related content

Aside from the perfect depth of field, I think the dramatic lighting helped make it even better!

I love the lighting and the color! They pop . It is a really good composition.. The low depth of field makes you focus on the flower, and the lighting enhances it

thanks..yes the last of the afternoon rays were coming into the biome and this flower was in a darkish corner but beautifully highlighted by the rays

thanks- yes I thought so too. I was hoping to get a better depth of field but my lens wouldnt allow me a small fstop - but it did not seem to matter in the end
