"Well, they know we're here now!" shouted Elly, as both sides intensified their firefight. Red and Leslea had ended up next to her, and she could see Cole and Tim had thankfully been able to find cover together, though she couldn't get to them without risking getting shot. Although the five intruders were presently managing to keep the ANGRY patrol at bay, they also were being kept from getting any closer to their objective. And there was no doubt that the sounds of battle would be heard by more than just the warring participants, eventually. If the patrol hadn't raised the alarm by now, of course. Either way, enemy reinforcements would be coming sooner rather than later, and the odds would shift quickly - and overwhelmingly - against the heroes.

They needed to get out of that area, and fast. Looking at her husband, Elly quickly raised him on her suit's communicator.

"We need to fall back, but they'll pick us off if we leave cover." She tilted her head towards the patrol when Tim turned to look back at her. "Think you can take care of that, love?"

His answer came not with words. Rather, a thin sheet of blue energy formed on his back into a cape all of a sudden, and as Tim stood in between the hailstorm of enemy fire and his friends, the cape split in two before enveloping his entire body in a bright blue energy field! Even though the entire ANGRY patrol then concentrated all their shots on the barrier, none were able to penetrate through, giving the others some breathing room.

"Nice work," Elly said as she started retracing her steps back through the hall and away from the battle, motioning for Red and the twins to follow her. "Maybe those clothes will be getting torn off after all~"

Red, Cole, and Leslea all glanced at her upon hearing that, confusion evident on their faces.

"Can't you two save that for when you're alone? For crying out..." an exasperated Leslea asked, shaking her head as she glanced upwards, her eyes instantly going wide from what she saw right then. "Move, NOW!"

Before the others were able to process Leslea's sudden outburst, she had shoved all three of them forward as hard as she could. The trio stumbled a few feet, barely missing the thick steel wall dropping from above and slamming into the very spot where they'd been a moment earlier!

"Sis!" yelled Cole as he turned and began pounding on the wall with one hand. Despite both Elly and Red joining in, their combined efforts were in vain as not even the slightest dent formed in the wall. To make matters worse, none of them could hear anything coming from the other side. Elly tried to contact Tim on her com, only to be met with static. She began to panic, only for Red to point out their signals were most likely being jammed. That didn't help her mood too much, but Elly nodded in agreement and took a deep breath to calm down.

To confirm that suspicion, Red tried contacting either of them on the other side of the wall, getting the same static in response.

Cole suddenly could hear Leslea's 'mental voice' in his head.

"Okay... just don't do anything crazy, okay?"

There was no way to be sure, but Cole wouldn't have been that surprised if his sister had smirked with that remark. He nodded before the three of them started running the other direction, pulling up the map to search for an alternate path.

"I thought they're jamming us," Elly said as they ran. "Did your com somehow work after all?"

"...no. Leslea and I have... other ways to communicate with each other."

"I don't understand... what does that mean?"

Cole let out a sigh, reluctant to break his word to his sister, but lying about it wouldn't help any of them right now. The situation had become desperate enough that keeping secrets could only make things worse, he realized. And maybe a bit of extra knowledge for his friends may ultimately help save the day after all.

"It's like this..." he began.
