Thanks a lot! It's actually quite easy to achieve this sort of look if you're interested in replicating it. You don't even need photo textures, it can just be with a separate layer of brush strokes. Basically, you put down an image and have it somewhat follow your painting's perspective, then use free transform to skew it around so that it's perspective becomes exaggerated, and then you can use a texturey brush with mixer brush to achieve that blurry effect which further helps... 

I should probably do a tutorial thing for this because even though I don't necessarily use it all the time, it's probably the most methodical type of thing I've done so far and it's easy to do again and again.

Well thank you, I think I will try it out! I really like your style as well as it's very clear and geometric almost. 

You definitely should make a tutorial! It's one that I don't think I've seen on DA so it could get some attention.
