I never tought I'd actualy meet the guy who made this image. Absolutly awesome work. Still I do agree with *jasonengel, the whole scene would look better if you just continued at the third frame, the poses of the snakes are just so much more intimidating, and you could still use the 3dMax logo in the back.

To me, for sheer intimidation, the third image would have been the way to go. The snakes look menacing. By the final image, their wrapped up bodies look too loving and tender. The red snake seems pink (feminine) and it's head is cocked at an angle the says curiosity to me, while the green snake in relation to the "pink" one seems outright happy, exuberant even. It says to me "Parents welcoming home a long-absent child." The child aspect is expressed most strongly by the two plastic Mattel lightsabers with authentic Force sounds that the boy is carrying.

I do really enjoy the way you've captured the development process, including your comments under each step.

I actually prefer the posing of the snakes you had in the third frame. However, changing the poses definately got you away from the sterotypical monster scene which has been done to death (was looking like god of war almost for a while there :-P)

Was very interesting to see you scale back the weapons, but I suppose this commission was to advertise a company? (since you mentioned logo a few times). So removing the weapons definately made it family friendlyy which is pretty much demanded for advertising appeal.

Kudos for the character design. Even with power armour, you really avoid treading on designs done by other companies such as GW.

Anyhoos - well done and keep up the great work

I'm quite the Max fan girl myself. (= I remember the first time I fired up Max 7.0 a few years back in school. First time I'd used it! The snake image popped up on the screen and it took me a few time before I remembered to write your name down, but I've got to say, I've been a huge fan of your work since that day and you continue to inspire me. Keep it up!
