Relationships can change. I used to fight with my mom every time I saw her. Now I have my own kids, started to see from her perspective and now we're better since she also started to learn to see from mine.

You never know what the future will bring and what sparks a change in both of you.

Yeah, I know, everobody can change, experiences and time can change us... But for me the best thing is to keep a distance  - and I see that avoiding contact really changes me. I became calmer and happier. I know how it sounds... I used to feel bad with it, as if I were a bad daughter, but the psychotherapist whose patient I was told me that this was not my fault.  Many people fight with their parents when they are teens, but later they have better contact and it's normal, but our relationship was a toxic one. Very often when I watch shows as "The voice" or other talent shows, I cry not because a performance moves me, but because I see how parents of young tallented people react to their performances. That they are proud, that they express their love. This is what I long for and what will never happen to me. That's why such comics make me sad because I know this is not what I could do to my mum   I hope it was not too much for you to read. Thank you that I could be listened.

I'm 36 and my parents only have acknowledged me last year. Keep you chin up and do what you have to do.
