Oh gosh.. Uhhh. Hmm.. I'm not entirely sure if it has a name. I'm trying to think of what my inspiration was back then. I'd assume I crossed some sort of trench coat with a halter vest. The top portion is a halter vest and I just elongated it to give it more of a sexy coat look. Why do you ask?

Why? Because I'm an animation student, and a part of my grade is I have to design a character, their outfit ad everything, then animate the clothing and whatnot. So I have to draw them, and then give my outfit design to one of the fashion student and they are suppose to replicate it. That cloak/halter top/ trench coat thing is the kind of clothing I'm looking for, but I need to find reference pictures for it. And I just thought maybe you knew what it was called so I could narrow down my search.

Ahhh I see. A huge thing about designing an outfit is really pushing boundaries around different styles. If you're looking for something similar to this, definitely look up halter vests, woman's gothic trench coats and such. Base the clothing off your character design's realm. So if you're looking for a more of a victorian gothic era, look into black lace, fitted sleeves with very draped parts around the wrist/hand area. Victorian style corsets, long velvet skirts, etc. For this in particular, it depends on which direction you want to go. I had intended a style fit for a sexy bounty hunter in a slight victorian age. The halter part of the top is more modern but the corset style to the vest is more victorian style waist cincher. The skirting aims more for a medieval/cyber punk feel with sexy thigh high boots to bring it together. I'm definitely not the best as far as designing outfits but I hope what knowledge I do have helps you with your project. Definitely find a theme and push some boundaries. Sketch out a ton of different things, piece them together, layer them, make them work. Best of luck!

I only have one issue. The first outfit gave me an idea for my own outfit with my own differences added to it... to where it doesn't look EXACTLY the same. I honestly dislike being inspired by outfits like this because this is how I get into trouble with people who think a couple of similarities make the entire outfit or creature the same when that's not how copyright works.... I like the cape Idea and the leggings, but I was going to edit a good bit of things and use something other than red and probably shorten the length of the cape too... I just thought it'd be more respectful to come out and explain this and ASK before I made it so there wouldn't be any problems started just because of two similarities.

I'm inspired to make an outfit with a similar idea. I've just had terrible issues with people calling me a thief for small similarities. So I thought I'd ask to show you what I come up with so no one freaks out about this. Does that make more sense?

Yeah. I think you just caught me off guard so I mildly derpped out. A friend actually suggested to me that I could allow you to do your idea and you could just reference me as your inspiration. :3 That way we both could get something out of it. I mean, in all reality it's hard to be completely original these days. Everyone gets inspired by something and there will always be similarities. So if you'd like we could do what my friend suggested. Up for it?
