This was sooo much fun! I did this as a drawn along with my lovely dA friends. Details of their drawings below -Before I waffle on, the original and beautiful photograph came from the very talented her gallery is beautiful, please have a look
The draw along was with these hugely talented ladies, it was a pleasure. The aim of this is basically to look at different interpretations of the same image, I think it has proved a point, they are all totally different
Details:
I think in the end about 12 hours work or thereabouts
A4 ex smooth bristol
Many shades of graphite
Carbon
White Gel Pen (yuk)
Graphite Power (for the background)
Tissue
Erasers
Tortillions
BlueTac
There are some WIPs in my scraps is anyone likes these things.

Where did you use the gel pen at?

Aw, what you like 
The gel pen is on the hair, mostly the few random strands over the beads and on the bead highlights. Smarty pants here coloured the beads in carbon and layered graphite over the top and didnt leave the hair strands alone, so I had to resort to yukky gel pen. It works, but ew!!
