I live = _ =So I've been working on the animation for my demo reel so much, which has to do with ballet, and when I tell myself "to hell with all of this *Flips animation table* I'm drawing something for myself today D< !!!" I can't come up with something that has nothing to do with ballet. And it sucks.
So I tell myself. Might as well get the other part of my portfolio done and do gestures... Ballet gestures = _ = And this is one of em. Just a quick sketch I made last night = _ =

Dito!! *hugs* love this pose, it shows a lot of skill and trust between the dancers. on joking side, the guys feet in tights look so cartoony xD but i know thats how they tend to really look so yeah. dont take it seriously. Anyways glad to see some of ur work again after so long Dx

Iβm glad to know you are alive, it is sad itβs taken so much of your time and the repetition is overwhelming you >β: But on the bright side you will feel accomplished βand a feeling of good-riddance to it allβ

I read from an artist, when you work so much on something ( or currently canβt draw at all ) you get oversaturated with it, in this case what he recommended was to do something NOT art related.
He recommended to go out, walk, hang out with friends, watch TV/Movie, listening to music, play games, go window shopping, etc.
As for this lovely sketch, at first I thought it was Capoeiraβ¦
I havenβt seen ballet since I was 6 years old; I could see the elegance of it but not the love for it. So I would never have thought this pose could be performed by them. It looks lovely and exotic. Not just what I remember of only delicate and proper.
The Swan Princess staring Natalie Portman doesnβt count. xD
I really love this, sadly I donβt see this been donβt softly but in a slow motion from a camera taking shot of a fast move. xD;;

The thing about the artists recommendation is that I do all that. I'm able to tell myself, ok, you've drawn enough so do something else. Or when I'm not near a light table or lunch box ( the thing used to put the animation together ) which is at school, is when I tend to take a break. And I get out cause I can't stand to be seated for any longer ( I spend all day sitting and drawing, I'm pretty sure you know how I feel = _ = ) But there are times that I just want to draw something for myself, relating to my story or something, but I can't come up with anything. But I want to draw. So I draw the next.. "Best" thing = A = Le sigh, I completely agree with this artist you mention. Is becoming over saturated but I can't still help but love it... Is a love hate relationship XD;;
As to you thinking it was Capoira, for all I know, it might/could've been. I don't remember what I googled but it had the word ballet in it... Heck, I might have even gotten the image from Tumblr for all I know X D
I agree with you, it doesn't hold the usual elegance and poise in it, and there's this kind of ballet now, is 'modern' ballet, so it could be that since it's more rough and.. I dunno. So I wouldn't really know in the end. I have a friend who used to be a ballet dancer, and he has helped me get my positions - especially feet- correct and giving me ideas, so when I see him I'll show him the original image and ask him : ).

Yeah I get it, hm, if you want⦠I could give you a few ideas to work with, the same I do with Jenny as homework every Saturday. I give name of characters and what they might be doing. Or you could ask Jenny.
It seems to work well when you two hang out. :β>

DUDE! I actually asked Jenny for this and all the ideas she came up with were situations for comics > X D !!!! I don't mind that, but you know, sometimes I just need ONE drawing that won't take me that long; since with comics there's all the process of storyboarding, paneling, etc etc etc @ A @ I would SOOOOOO appreciate this Tomoe ; A ; !!!! I'll send you a note with a link to all my characs and a brief description of each so you get to know em a bit and assign whatever to them 
Yeah but when we hang out we're like... High or something x D I miss that ; _ ;
And seeing how this is an art site, I would think people are highly interested in others opinions, if they want to improve that is : 0 !
