Description is hosting a Spider-man Jam, the scope is huge… simply anything and everything Spider-man. I haven’t taken part in an Art Jam in a dog’s age and I really wanted to get in on it. So this is what I’ve come up with it’s… The Uncanny Spider-man. Here’s the idea… its wordy because I’m bored.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
13 year old Peter Parker is a seemingly normal young man and he may have stayed that way had it not been for a most unusual accident. During a school trip Peter Parker is bitten by mutated Spider, a bite that would most certainly killed most anybody else. But Young mister Parker is gifted with, or cursed by, a recessive X factor gene, a genetic mutation that allows the possibility of uncanny abilities. His genetic make-up is supercharged by the mutated spider venom and Peter’s X gene leaps to the surface. It is unclear whether Peter would have developed a mutation without the spider bite but one thing is for certain… his life would never be the same.

Peter’s mutant powers manifest quickly, gaining super human strength, agility, durability and A nearly Precognitive ability to perceive pending danger almost over night. Over the next few weeks he also discovers that his fingers and toes have developed incredibly strong hook like hairs that allow him to cling to most surfaces, allowing him to climb straight up walls or hang from the ceiling. His wrists develop spinnerets that allow Peter to produce webbing, webbing capable of holding or supporting vast amounts of weight.

While Peter enjoys and revels in his new found powers, he becomes careless and is spotted by an Anti-mutant group called the Friends of Humanity. He is followed to his home, the home of Ben and May Parker, Peter’s great uncle and aunt. The FOH demand they turn over Peter, Uncle Ben defends his nephew against the angry mod and is shot in cold blood. In the chaos that follows the FOH burn their family home with Peter and aunt May trapped inside. Peter tries desperately to save his aunt from the inferno but things look bleak.

A calming voice seems to cut thru the raging fire, “My name is Charles Xavier, we’re here to help”. Just then the back of the house is seemingly ripped off the foundation and a clearing ruby beam of light scatters the burning debris. Peter grabs his now unconscious aunt and bounds to safety to be meet by a young man and red haired young girl dressed and bright blue and yellow gold. With the mob feeing at the sounds of approaching sirens, Peter loads his aunt in the back of a black van emblazoned with a bright Red X driven by a bulky hairy young man.

As they speed a way Peter realizes that Aunt May has been mortally wounded and with her last breaths she whispers how proud she is of him and tells him that “With great power comes great responsibility”.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Its not a entirely new Concept, it first wormed its way into my brain back in high school and one that has even made a few cameos in marvel history ( I Believe maybe once or twice in Exiles). I put him in the classic Blue and Yellow Gold to show that he was there at the beginning; Scot, Jean, Bobby, Hank, Warren and now Peter. I see him and Bobby getting into a lot of entertaining fun together, they’d be about the same age and are very much the same personality.

There have always been things I loved about Spider-man but there have also been things I hated and this is an attempt to correct those things and to explain why I did what I did.

1) Why mutant or radioactive spider venom didn’t kill him out right, my answer X gene… solved

2) I never liked the fact that the venom fixes his eye sight but he still has to wear the glasses, it’s too Clark Kent. My answer corrective spidy goggles… solved and groovy.

3) If his hands and feet can stick to walls but then he wears gloves and boots then he’s just sticking to his clothes. My answer fingerless gloves and exposed toes (not shown).

4) While Peter is a genius and may be able to create the formula for the webbing and the specs for the shooters, where does he get the raw ingredients or the equipment to make the either? The only solution… organic web shooters for the win.

5) How does the webbing, organic or not, make it out of his gloves? My answer a stylized x shaped cutout in the wrist of the glove.

6) Spider-man, X-men and half of the Marvel top ten all stomp around New York and never seem to come into contact. The fact that a powerful young mutant like Spider-man escaped the sights of Professor X and cerebro is a hard pill to swallow.

7) Spider-man like Batman needs that defying event to forge them as heroes, so poor kind old Ben Pater has to die… again.

8) Peter is too family centered he would never leave his aunt to join the X-men, so aunt May had to die too.

Amazing work, I've always wanted Petey to joined the original X-Men, and you've made my dream both real, and better. Wonderful job, sir.

I really love the idea of this! I only have one gripe, so to speak: The fact that in the original he makes webshooters, yet in yours it organicly made. With the new "goggles" idea, think about cyclops: he didn't just come with that visor of his, it had to be made. So why couldnt our web-head have web-shooters made? Its probably the WHOLE mutant power scheme. Regardless of my necessity to be right or get things clear, SERIOUSLY LOVING THIS

Thank you I’m glad you like.
I have no qualms with him being "able" to make the Shooters and the Web Fluid but with the accessibility of the raw materials. While the shooters could possibly be “MacGuyver’ed” out of bits and bobs Peter finds it’s the Web Fluid that I have a hard time with. And even if you could order the chemicals needed, maybe from different suppliers, under false names and all that surely the government would put two and two together eventually. Plus Peter is chronically broke, where would he get the money for such materials. If the writers ever told a story where Peter had to wait till payday before crime fighting they’d have me sold…

My answer to 3 - His costume is made from an extremely thin fabric
My answer to 5 - His gloves have little nozzles at the wrists

PDInk In reply to ImdaBatman [2012-05-15 17:10:00 +0000 UTC]

3- this is a guy who's fighting and flipping and rolling around. Extremely thin fabric could result in an unpleasent costum tear
5- how would said nozzles stay in place, if they got out of line by just a few cm he could mess him self

Which has happened many times over the years.

Good question. In the upcomming movie, he just wears the web-spinning parts on the outside.

the costume's still blue and red and wed designed that's all i care about. Spiderman's costume has not had a good re-design ever.
