Description
There is Nudity in this Tutorial. Most of this came from Fissan and his fantastic work
So I give a lot of the credit to him
But I refined a lot of it to a more visual explanation (the tutorial on page 3 and 4.)
I've done the best I can, and what I could to cover all the possible errors and outcomes that may happen.Β
I'm not an expert.
If you have questions, I'll try to answer. Emphasis on TRY!
Special thanks to ShadowhawkOne for the fixed PDF!

If you're saving as Figure/Prop you are resaving entire Genesis figure again in your library as a separate base figure
(this will duplicate a ton of things including a lot of morphs and whatnot making a complete mess).
If you are fixing a particular morph, ERC Freeze rigging of the morph after rigging adjustment and save as
support asset/morph asset, which will save the dial into the Data folder in the main base... Β
Just to make sure you're not advising people to save multiple bases because I'm sure nobody wants that.
You may want to update the ending of this tutorial with that information.
Cheers.

This was made with an earlier version of Studio, when some of the new options we use now didn't effectively work as planned back then. Take note there is a foot issue still with the conversion of V4 to g2F.Β So an update is in order.Β the Legal bit of advising people...well I'm a hobbiest that doesn't speak the terms of the hobby.Β ieΒ I have zero idea what ERC is about, rigging, and delving into the data folder is a no-no for me.
I do this to relax. I have a six figure job, it's killing my nerves right now (ie no renders in two months) and this is how I prefer to end my day, off in la la land. (read my DA id on my title page, that should explain a bit about me.)
If you would like to take this tutorial and update it, I'll dig up what I can and hand it over, the only thing I ask...English, no geek speak. An opening day hobbiest needs to be able to read it and understand it and that is the corner stone of all my tutorials. any one can read it.

I was merely stating a cruical error in the tutorial as I assume people would follow it trying to fix the "rubber limbs" distortion,
and what you stated to be done is WAAAY wrong way to go, for reasons I listed. Other than that, saving characters,
rigging and similar have all been around at least since DS 4.5 (first Genesis) when I started learning Daz and haven't
changed in method of how to do it since. It's a fun area to learn and very rewarding one when you learn it right.
Not sure why mentioning one's job and salary is necessary here, or calling explanation geek speak etc... No, I would not like to
edit other people's work/tutorials (thanks for the offer), but I'd hate to see people ruining their beloved Genesis bases
because of wrong instructions for what they consider is written by someone who knows that kind of stuff...
So even if you don't like what I said, my comment/warning is in place.Β
Sorry if that insults you, DS is a great hobby to have, for me also a job, and tutoring people is better when you know what you're advising.
Have a great day,
V.

You're welcome and good luck, and remember, if you have the g3 addon you can even do this for v4 to g3F.Β
I'll be updating this with the how to once life settles down.

just out of info obj is more to morph then to bend or it would require 3 other set of information as well such asΒ skeleton hierachy,Β position and orientation an weight for each dot (vertices) towards skeleton
obj contain only in 3 sets 1st dots index whih position in 3d x (width) y (height)Β and z (depth) space for each object that compose a figure, 2nd set information is faces or which do is conected to which to make a plain whether that plain is a triangle or a quad or ..., 3set info is texture info in percentage from upper leftΒ as 0% toΒ lower right as 100% repsented by xΒ width an y height reson why obj is usedΒ for morph is that in contains fewest numbers of dots means easier for CPU to handle

I've always just dragged the ++ morphs over to GenX and then the shape I want to transfer. Β Then turned on all non-zeros and transferred. Β Is this a more accurate way to transfer the shape?

PDSmith In reply to dakkuuan [2015-11-21 19:57:00 +0000 UTC]
It's possible, but how I do it, I believe makes it easier for the general hobbiest to transfer what might be a custom dialed morph. many of the characters from my graphic novels are just that, custom dialed. premade morphs are easy for your method...from the sounds of it.Β

dakkuuan In reply to PDSmith [2015-11-21 20:10:52 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I transfer a lot of pre-made morphs. Β There is also an option that you can get the values from V4 herself, that will allow for custom built characters to easily be transferred.Β

Stupid question (hey, we're all beginners once), but how tricky would this be to work for M4 to G2M? Is it just using the G2M/M4 versions of the G2F/V4 stuff?

I just finished one of my girls just now and I must say, while I don't fully like the way she came out, mainly due to the g2f 'platform' as there are still some imperfections compared to the original model, the tutorial was spot on, easy to use and all around AWESOME! *bows* Thank you very much for this!

It's been fixed, there was glitch in the conversion that the latest version of Adobe reader hung up on, but other readers and older versions of reader didn't. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience and it should be up and working now.
