Description
I'm still trying to learn to watercolor paint. I don't think this came out particularly well, though I did learn to wick dissimilar colors into each other, wet-into-wet, for blending like I do with my markers. I haven't perfected the technique yet but I'll get better with practice. What you're seeing here is actually a mosaic of various scans, stitched together using only MS Paint. I snatched bits and pieces from various color-tinkered scans and made a franken-image of parts with relatively correct colors.
It came out decent except that the charming pale yellow glow around the Froslass was lost. Which is sad, because it helped to set her off from the blue backdrop and gave the piece a bit more interest color-wise. Nothing I did with the scanner or my various art programs was able to reclaim it. It's pale and subtle in the real thing. You can see mild traces of it here if you look closely.
About eighty bajillion more paintings and maybe I'll become decent at it!

D'aww, she's so cute! It's fabulous for a franken-image!
Heck, I didn't even realize it WAS a franken-image. Wonderful!
Beautiful colors and a lovely first job for paints

Thanks so much for the nice comment, Star! MS Paint is surprisingly capable when it comes to image editing. That's what I used to cut pieces out of various scans and stick them together.

Really?
...
XD;;
I don't see how personally.
But, if it makes you happy.
YAY! <3
Yeah.. I HATE working with watercolor paints.
Primarily because I can never use them right.
*Shrug* Apparently you know how to use them. Hah x3

I really like her. The cold colors are very well chosen, and I like the contrast to the overall cold colorsceme and the glowing eyes. Even though you had a lot of trouble scanning it, I think it worked out very well. Scanning watercolor is the hardest, I think. When I do so it looks all like mud. XD
Great piece, I really like it! (Even though I'd love to see the yellowish glow you were mentioning, my monitor doesen't show it at all... =/ )

You made me so happy with your comment, Tabby! Thank you! This is the first time I've combined multiple scans like this, but I think I'll do it again and again. I can usually get a color to look decent, but never all the colors on the same scan.

salt and watercolors = LOVE D: Done that once before.
This is amazing Peach! I can see the traces of that pale yellow and I could imagine how nice it'd look if it were more visible in the scan, but this picture is still breath-taking without it. Very nice!

Thank you, my friend. The cafeteria was closed when I was painting it, or I might have tried to snatch some salt.

Then again we are our own worst critic.
I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I honestly really like this. ^^
