Description Alice walked aimlessly around the Battle Frontier.  Where would her feet take her this time? She wandered onto the edges of a quickly gathering crowd.  Oh.  There was a stage, a mess of cords, and two of the Frontier Brains, equipped with... only one microphone.  A bit cheap, but whatever.

The brunette, Casper laughed slightly. "Hello, everyone!" he said, stepping over microphone cables for a better view of the crowd. "I hope everyone's enjoying Round One." He grinned.

"For those of you who come from Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh or Unova, you may be unaware of the event occurring today. The tailow migration!"  He grinned awkwardly. Alice stifled a chuckle.  She supposed that he actually hadn't tried to say it out loud.  Ah, the wonders and joys of public speaking.

"Every year, this frontier sees the tailows and swellows migrating overhead to Hoenn. But this year we've got a challenge for you all. We've sent our own shiny swellow into the flock with a ribbon attached to his leg." He held up a velvet red ribbon with the Freestyle Frontier logo on.

"Your task is to fly amongst the birds as they pass over, and catch our shiny without hurting him and return to Charlie or myself with the ribbon." Casper glanced to Charlie and passed her the microphone, then pocketed the ribbon.

Charlie began speaking. "If you don't have any flying pokémon or your one is incapable don't worry. We have a wide variety available for rent at the research lab and expect them back it the condition you borrowed them." She smiled. "The migrating pokemon will be passing through the island at about midday, so you have an hour to get yourselves ready!"

Alice smirked.  She hadn't tried capturing Pokemon in years, but she was sure that Totsy was up for the exercise.  The young woman jogged back to her room to gather up a few devices. Net, claw, tracker, glove... check for all.
----
By the time she had gotten outside, about fifteen minutes had passed.  Alice exhaled a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding, and pulled on her raptor gauntlet.  She choose a pokeball, and enlarged it. "Time to fly, Totsy.  I hope you're up for a good cha–"

The Salamence popped out before her sentence was finished.  "–ase. Good to see you're enthusiastic." Alice smiled and shook her head.  "Ready to chase down a shiny birdy?" She put a hand to Titania's head. "It's a Swellow.  I'm sure you remember what those look like, but this one has different colors.  It's green and red, not blue and red.  And it's got a ribbon attached to its leg.  You just need to get as close to it as possible."

She sighed and tugged on one of Titania's horns.  "And whatever you do, don't hurt anything."  Totsy nodded.  "Ready to get going, then?"

Totsy roared happily. Alice laughed lightly, and swung onto the junction where the neck meets the shoulders.  "C'mon, girl.  Lift-off, then flight as soon as possible.  Glide, then swoop in."

The blue dragon quickly ran to a cliff, opened her wings, and jumped off.  She beat her wings, trying to catch a warm wind current to carry her up to the flock of birds.  Eventually, she spiraled upwards, gliding lazily over the stage that Alice had been at earlier.

Alice dug through her bag for her tracker.  After a few minutes of mild swearing, she pulled it out. "Ha! Now... Uh, Shiny Swellow, main body feather colors are green and red..." She continued fussing with the settings and buttons until she was satisfied with its tracking and radar abilities. "I'll have to add something so that it'll track DNA and RNA..." she murmured under her breath.

Titania continued ignoring her, until the crowd of Tailows in the distance grew bigger.  She began flying in circles. "Totsy! What are you–oh. Umm..." Alice pressed the button on her tracker that was marked 'Start.' She turned her attention to he Salamence.  "Totsy, fly with the flock, will you?" Titania complied with the request, and began zeroing in on the migrating pokemon.

Then she noticed the crowd of other trainers in the air. And... was that a Hydreigon? Whaaat. She shook her head–now was not the time to be thinking about other pokemon.  Time to get her head into the game.  Alice clipped her claw/capture device to her right forearm, and attached the net launcher on top of it.

After a few minutes of flying, and still swarms of Tailow, Alice sighed. "Break up the formation.  The Swellow's probably in the center... with my luck." Damn Lily for getting all the luck-or at least in gambling.  Her cousin had an uncanny ability for guessing correctly.

Titania narrowed her eyes, and folded her wings for more speed. She turned and dove into the flock of Tailows, dodging more trainers.  Alice grinned. "Ha! Gotcha.  Left, Totsy, left!"

Titania turned left, almost directly into the shiny Swellow.  It turned and flew away.  The Salamence continued pursuit, following the shiny pokemon deeper and deeper into the flock.

Alice almost pressed the button on her claw to grab the bird, but thought otherwise. Let's see if I can capture more flies with honey than vinegar... She opened a flap on her bag and pulled out a pouch.  Alice carefully picked out a Sitrus berry.  "Come here, Swellow! I've got a treat for you~!" she called.

The Swellow eyed her disdainfully, then stared at the berry.  It stayed out of her reach. "Oh, no way am I gonna throw this for you.  The other Tailows are liable to fight over it, and then you wouldn't get any."

The Swellow chirped, and darted to the berry.  Alice held the berry closer to her chest.  "Nope. Perch on my arm, stay for a bit, and I'll give to you, okay?" She offered her left arm.

The Swellow seemed to sigh, and settle on the thick cloth that covered Alice's arm.  Alice deftly untied the ribbon and quickly handed the avian the promised berry.  "Have fun flying!" She smiled.  The Swellow flew off, pleased with its prize.

"Totsy, back to the... uh, judges, I suppose, please." The Salamance turned her head to her trainer in confusion, then glided to the edge of the flock.  "The stage, then? I don't think... uh, Charlie and Casper have wandered off..." Titania seemed to shrugged, and dived to the stage, catching Alice by surprise.  She landed within a few inches of the platform with a loud thud.  Alice winced. Oh, I hope the other trainers didn't notice us...

Alice shakily dismounted.  "You little–Alright, I'll let you free for a bit." Titania perked up and vocalized happily.  Alice sighed.  "I swear, I spoil you guys too much..."

Titania chirped and ran off elsewhere.  Alice glanced around the stage, and spotted Charlie reading a paper.  She walked quickly to the shorter woman.  "Hi, Miss Charlie.  I've got the ribbon.  Now what?"

The brunette ignored.  That paper must've been quite interesting... Alice tapped her shoulder.  The woman suddenly looked up. "Oh.  You have a ribbon, I assume?"

Alice grimaced slightly.  "You assume correctly.  So..." She held the ribbon awkwardly. "I just give it to you, right?"

Charlie nodded.  "Yes, that's right.  And as you're winner, you get this envelope.  I personally don't know what's in it–Casper knows."

Alice and Charlie exchanged the ribbon and envelope.  Charlie smiled at Alice. "Congratulations on winning.  Now, I've got some paperwork to do..." she said while walking away.

Alice looked at the envelope and shrugged.  Well, back to my room I go before anyone discovers I've already got the ribbon.  She stopped. What had she forgotten...? No–! Damnit, where's that dragon?

Titania looped happily in the sky, unaware of her trainer's plight.
