I took a flight out earlier this year to a new place. At night the fog would collect and everything seemed to stand still and float. I've lived on a tropical island most my life and I didn't realize how much I missed this change of seasons. Quiet and alone yet...peaceful. What I like about the trees is how seperate they appear to me. Although they are following the same path each stands alone. Alone together. Great work.

thank you so much for the great comment.
change of seasons can be great for a photographer, it can help you to see things in different ways... surely right now I'd like to go and live on a tropical paradise... maybe not for ever, but for a while it would be great!

This is absolutely beautiful- I have been doing a 'tree' 'fog' thing lately as well. My trees are very different from these however. I like the simplicity of these.

Ah, this one is quite spectacular, its just so moody. It has to be one of the better black and white shots that I have seen recently.
Why is it that I never even try to take a photograph in weather like that?

because you're never bored enough dude
thanks for the comment, you know how much I appreciate it, don't you?

lol. I dont know about that. I think my problem is that whenever my boredom does drive me to take a walk, I never think to take my camera.
Going to have to change that!

this reminds me more of a grey and cold november day around here
when you feel like you could already grab the melancholy in the air
the atmosphere is strange but impressive at the same time
and the wind frees your mind
so you'll feel fresh and released afterwards
ready to start over new...

Beautiful shot. I like the simplicity of this one, and how the two trees in the background are disappearing in the fog.
Can't find anything to pick on, except maybe the composition. I think it might've been even better if flipped horizontally - as we read from left to right it would possibly look better with the tree in the foreground to the left of the two in the background. Just a thought

I usually do not flip pictures.... I might have walked 'till the third tree and then taken the shot in the other way, but then I'd have lost the perspective....
sometimes, you just have to live with what you get
thanks so much for the comment mate, it was truly appreciated

buddy, nice work on the photo..
Tell me how\'s the 20D holding up? i think ill be getting one at the end of the year. As I only went to film this year and I really wanna get the \'straight-away\' photos nice work on this buddy +fav

the 20D is nothing less than superb, even if I founf ti really easy to use, I still am using just a truly small percentage of it potential.
you might consider it for digital, but don't leave film... I do believe it still has that unique feeling...

This is a beautiful piece! the low mist & the dark big trees that line the path, really make this shot feel a little dark & mysterious

i think it's a bit over-sharpened in the area of the first tree.... don't like the bright outlines...
but the photo itself has reall something... the repeating of the tree makes the photo look very deep and the colours makes me feel the italian winter...
great!

actually I set the unsharp only to 80% 0,8... maybe I worked too much with the curves....
you definetely have a great eye dude !
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
tfprince In reply to pecchio [2005-02-16 21:21:23 +0000 UTC]
maybe you could try some other way to sharpen the small image:
[PS]
ctrl-a
ctrl-c
crtl-v
blending mode: hard light
then: filter - other - high pass (play with the radius until picture looks sharp)
now you can simply erase the odd-looking outlines in the new layer...
