Love the look in her eyes, as if she is anticipating something, but she's not sure if it is good or evil....

Lovely painting. I much prefer digital art to look like a traditional painting, rather than something that has been produced by a comoter program!

Thank you! Indeed, nothing beats the look of traditional art. It's like the brush stokes has their own feelings in them.

What kind of clothing is this? Mongolian? Your painting is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors.

It is traditional clothing of the Akha people, and they live in southeast Asia if I remember right ^^ I'm in love with the beautiful headwear and I just had to paint it! *-*

My favorite part of this has to be her headware. IT JUST LOOKS SO GOOD.

Thank you! Yes, it is a traditional headwear (or headdress) of the Akha people. Search it up and you'll find lots of interesting stuff

Wow! So pretty! I like the texture you have made and everything else too, but the texture works really well with this type of portrait! It would be a really cool as an oil painting too! I think I should apply to your future art classes..!
Out of curiosity, how long did making this painting take? ^^

Thank you so much! I love playing with textures and mimic the brush strokes of traditional art ^-^ But I doubt I'd be a good teacher haha My favorite art gurus right now are Marco Bucci, Sinix and Adam Duff (all on youtube)
Most of the things I've learned comes from them (+practice of course)!
I think this painting took around 1-2 hours Simple portraits like these usually never go beyond 2h, but bigger illustrations might take 3-6h. But honestly, speed doesn't matter. I paint in my own pace, which might be too fast for others taste (some of my friends spends 50h per artwork).

Ohh thank you for recommendations! ^^ I'll check them out when I get a bit more free time!
Wow! Only 1-2 hours! I asked about the time mainly because it looks like it was a "quick study" but at the same time it looks like an painting that took several hours. I'm between you and your friends : D If I try to do a portrait it takes 20-30 hours. (After 20 hours I stop counting...)

Definitely do ^-^
I honestly have never spent more than 7 hours on one painting in my life. Details bore me xD I like going wild with shapes and colors and that leaves me no time to go at a slower speed and preferably I want to finish the painting in one day. Those who can spend days and even weeks on one artwork are really amazing! I can't even imagine the patience needed for that x.x

Wow! I have never thought somebody could not have spent a lot of time in artworks, even when practicing or doing commissions! This opens my eyes that art can be done in really different pace. To be honest, I usually spend months on single artwork because I can't find time more often. : P

Very true, it opened up my eyes as well when I heard how other artists created their art! There is lots lo learn from other artists, despite skill level. Time is a tricky one indeed, it's not everyday you have free time to spend on art sadly :/
