Description
Giants Causeway, on the North East coast of Ireland in County Antrim, is actually the real name for this geologic monument with volcanic rock formations pushed up in hexagonal forms"The story of the causeway
by Clive Barbour
The giants were called Finn McCoul & Bennendonner.
Benendoner was a Scottish giant who came over to Ulster by building the causeway. Finn McCoul the Irish giant was frightened but decided to dress up as a baby in order to frighten Benendonner - if this was the size of the bairn what was the father like! - so he fled back to Scotland destroying the causeway which can now only be seen at both its ends in County Antrim in Northern Ireland and on the isle of Staffa in Fingal's cave. Incidentally Finn McCoul was also responsible for creating Lough Neagh in the middle of Ulster by picking up a clod of earth and throwing it at another giant in Scotland. He miss-aimed and it fell into the sea and became the Isle of man halfway between Ireland and England."

Hey, cool, you've been to the Causeway too
But apparently, it was far more quiet when you were there (seeing no tourist whatsoever in your picture)... during my vacation, the place was literally swarming with tourists
But it's definately a nice shot

the black and white really gives it a dark and stormy look. i like the way the rocks were pushed up like that. At first i thought i was man-made, then i read your description. That's awesome. Nice job!!

Giants Causeway, on the North East coast of Ireland in County Antrim, is actually the real name for this geologic monument with volcanic rock formations pushed up in crystalline forms
Check the myths I found about this:
"The story of the causeway
by Clive Barbour
He miss-aimed and it fell into the sea and became the Isle of man halfway between Ireland and England.
An addition to the story
by Christine Moscillo
The story as best I know goes that Finn was a folk hero - sort of a super human type person. He claimed mystical and magical powers. He claimed to be able to take on different bodily shapes. This was a feared thing in Ireland, (or anywhere else for that matter). There was a group somewhere in Ireland where they claimed to be able to change shapes. He said he was accepted by this group. Perhaps the story goes he transformed himself into a giant. His mother died at birth and he was raised by two older women in the forests. He ventured out and became a Fenian warrior who never lost a battle. He fell in love with a women called Sibh, but she was kidnapped by these shape changer people. He spent the balance of his life trying to find her. She was actually transformed into a red deer. Of course, he eventually finds her and he becomes a buck."
about the photo, I wasn't quite happy with the result. The original photo was really too dark. so I made it a bit too bright to call viewers attention to the rock formations. But now I would probably done it another way. Thks

That's really nice. I couldn't properly decide if it was a black and white shot or not...little glimpses of blue seem to stand out.
