Description The first tutorial in a long time (a year I think): candy apples.

I hope I was clear enough with the steps. Some of them I really couldn't figure out how to explain all that well.

If you do use this, I'd love to see how your candy apples turned out.

Also, I know I shouldn't have to say this, but please don't upload this anywhere and claim it's your own. Or crop out my name on top. It's happened, so I thought I'd say something here.

I've also made a blog post on this here in case this is too small to read.

Very nice. I like how you explain and who different step by steps. A lot of clay books out there don't give this much info. So its a great tutorial. I will have to try to make a few of these cute little apples thanks!!!!

Teligress1988 [2013-10-29 12:01:59 +0000 UTC]

question for you, with the sticks to get a clean cut i was planning on using toothpicks would soaking them in water first then cutting them keep the ends from splintering? and then watering down some paint to giving them  a litter more color work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PepperTreeArt In reply to Teligress1988 [2013-10-29 12:37:28 +0000 UTC]

If you use a sharp blade to cut them they shouldn't splinter that much. You can always give the end a quick sanding as well.

AdventurerClicks [2013-10-28 15:59:29 +0000 UTC]

Simply love this! You make the little apples look so easy to make! x)

Question, once you have colored clay with pastel-dust, does that then smudge? Or will it perhaps not smudge after it has been baked?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PepperTreeArt In reply to AdventurerClicks [2013-10-28 16:23:27 +0000 UTC]

Once you bake it, the pastel sets into the clay. If you're still worried about it coming off (though it shouldn't), the glaze will protect it as well.
