Unfortunately, I only watch a few animes, like One Punch Man (because it mocks anime chlichés). But I like the design.

I may have to watch it.

I have watched some very dark anime, such as another, Higurashi (all seasons) High school of the dead etc....

I have also seen some pretty cool ones like sankarea, bleach, kimi ni todoke etc...

Well, one dark anime I watched one time was Hellsing. It's about Dracula's son, Alucard, being a straight out badass as a type of mercenary hunting down lesser vampires.

Well, there are actually two versions of the series.
The first one came out in 2003 which takes matters very seriously in terms of horror.
The second one is the Ultimate series that came out around 2008 which tries to be extra edgy, but then some clown thought it would be funny to slap in attempted humor that blends terribly with the rest of the overall tone.
Yet overall the first is sort of a classic while the other is decent enough.

The first series was quite gory I believe.
I don't like it when humour is added to a darker situation. It kind of wrecks the climax the producers are trying to make.
I see. The first one is probably the best then.
