Description
This is the clock tower in die Zwinger in Dresden. Zwinger is a German word meaning the space between walls (at least, that's what our guide said). Normally, a Zwinger would be used during war, the space between the city's outer wall and its inner wall, something like that. This, however, was not the case.Die Zwinger in Dresden was built by August the Strong, one of the well-known Kings of Poland (it's a long story, ask me when I come back to the States). And he built it just for the hell of it, it had absolutely nothing to do with war or the army or anything.
The four walls that make up die Zwinger were a palace, and a few museums. I'm pretty sure those were their original uses as well. So, in essence, it's like a giant court yard.
And now we move to the photo: this is the clock in die Zwinger and I thought it was just awesome. Three times a day at very odd times (one is 2:15) it chimes for like five minutes, and the song changes for the season. We were there at 2:15, so we got to hear the summer theme. It was very cool.
I love the rows of bells and wanted to share them with everyone, which is why I'm posting this photo. Enjoy!

That is very neat! Ya learn something new everyday, and accompanied once again by another beautiful photo. Watch out, you might be able to make a history book that's not dry and boring sounding and one that I will definitely want to read! lol

Ha, sure.
I just wish I could remember the other random times of day. One was like 4:20, and the other was ten something.
