Yeah Ysera was too cute and kind to die like that. Stupid is first time I did that quest was with druid. (Irony) And I really did not want to kill her. I was running around for like 10minutes in my apartment telling myself blizz will somehow fix it in the end.

This is still a beautiful picture of a tear jerking scene.
I know a lot of people are upset and felt what happened to Ysera was unnecessary (and maybe it was)
Spoiler alert, in case anyone has not played the game and doesn't want to know what happened. Do not read further if you don't want it spoiled.
But it was NOT just a simple corruption bolt fired from Xavius, as some seem to assume.. It was the Tear of Elune he'd stolen earlier on, and corrupted.
I think Blizzard was not only trying to show how dire the situation was, but also show just how powerful these artifacts are that the heroes are trying to track down.. powerful enough to corrupt one of the Dragon Aspects with a single hit. ..That whole concept kinda fell short IMO, though, feeling too sudden, too rushed. We should have been given the option of TRYING to find an alternative, with explanations of WHY that was not possible. Instead Blizzard just assumed we'd assume and agree that killing her immediately was the only option.

Still would have preferred to "beat the nightmare out of her" instead of "kill her". :/
Anyhow, this is neat art. I don't think I've seen anybody portray the scene from a humanoid view, before this.

I was talking how Ysera death looked ridiculous. An (former) Great Dragon Aspect, leader of the green dragonflight, a teacher and a mother figure to Cenarius, a creature that was gifted with (shards of) power of Titans, not counting tens of thousand of years of living and all experience, skills, knowledge she got... was defeated by a single, straight-flying object, because apparently Ysera can't in to dodging, hell, if she closed her wings that would have been enough, not to mention such things as teleportation/blinking, magical barrier raising, etc. I mean it's not the first time she is living as a weak version of herself, de-powered if you want, she somehow managed to live for ~10.000 years with 90% of her powers being sealed in Demon Soul, so...
It looks silly and grotesque, Blizzard was probably like "whelp, we need more relatively important characters to die for the teh drama, "oh legion so scary", neglect logic".

Honestly, this moment in the game has convinced me that we, (the 'heroes' and 'adventurers' of Azeroth) are responsible for the deaths of Every single Dragon Aspect.
Think about it, We stomped Maligos into dust in the Eye of Eternity. Traveled into the timeways and murdered Murozond, who was Nozdormu after going insane in the future. We drowned Deathwing in the Maelstrom before turning him to pixie dust with the help of the other Aspects. And now, we have just been forced to do *this*.
All that's left is Alexstraza, and we'll have a full set.

Responsible how? She got corrupted by Xavius when he shot her in the chest with a corruption bolt. Yes we were there but we were incapacitated. Secondly we tried to help her but the corruption was too powerful and we had to put her down. So please explain how we were responsible for this.
We killed Deathwing because he was LITERALLY GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD. Thats like feeling bad we had to defeat Hitler in WW2. Deathwing was not a good person at least he wasnt after the Old Gods had their way with him. He was hell-bent on the destruction of Azeroth. Which again, is something we had nothing to do with.
Maligos was trying to rid the world of magic and kill all mages. Which means that severely hinders our chances of fighting off the Legion. Yes, magic is dangerous, but one cannot deny how useful it can be when placed in the right hands. This means Khadgar wouldnt be able to help us defeat the Legion on Draenor. Maligos was extremely short sighted and his ideals wouldve caused far more harm than good in the greater scheme.
I dont know about Nozdormu, but according to the wiki, hes still alive. The future version of him going insane is us failing to defeat Deathwing. Which again, isnt directly our fault.

"It's a trap!" I so wanted to yell that to her as she came flying in, but alas the player character is useless in cutscenes.
It seems to be trendy to kill of major characters for tension recently, I blame GoT. In my opinion, none of the major deaths so far have 'worked'. They didn't increase the stakes, not really, its not possible to increase the stakes more than they already were on the Broken Shore, the Legion is back, that's all the stakes we need.
Varion's death is a poorly disguised way of continuing the conflict between the Horde and Alliance(hey Sylvanas, ever heard of sending a messenger saying 'we are getting overrun, retreat!'?). I didn't want to defeat the legion more after Tyrion, Vol'Jin and Varion's deaths, nor do I want to defeat Xavius more after Ysera's death. If anything, I want to punch Malfurion's face in, if he hadn't ran off into a obvious trap, this wouldn't have happened, making Ysera's death partially his fault.
If anything, this makes me less inclined to continue playing the expansion. Throwing away major characters just to increase tension and up the stakes is a poor way of doing things, it feels cheap and fucking stupid. Not to mention pointless.
And the bullshit with Elune is even worse. if she could cleanse the tear and make Ysera's spirit into a constelation, she could have helped us stop and cleanse her instead of killing her.

Хотя. если я не ошибаюсь, то ее реальное тело ж в Изумрудном сне должно быть, а в этом мире она использует аватар (по типу как Саргерас когда-то), ну и еще "дух" ее можна увидеть во после того, как Ксавиуса убить в кошмаре. Так что да, надеюсь на лучший исход. А то это будет реально тупо, если она так простенько умрет... мне с головой хватило Тириона и Вол'джина. И да, тот же Малигос и Смертокрыл были рейдами, а тут так унизить Изеру... как-то даже обидно за нее...

I was really disappointed to see her killed off (as I have been with a few of the Aspects, like Malygos), as most have felt redeemable. That said, her death scene was incredibly beautiful, and a nice way to add to the mystery of Elune.
