bereft of colorall i see
are the tapestries of solemnity
hung upon the walls of melancholy.
bereft of brightness
all i see
are the stoic-faced senators gathered
around the tribunals of this land.
there exists nothing more than
conformity within this world
there exists nothing more than
the lock step rhythm of the saints
disguising the misplaced stumblings
of the sinners.
bereft of change
all i see
are the compromises and second guesses
the lack of faith in love and conviction.
bereft of patriots
all i see
are the fallen bodies of the lambs
littering the marketplaces.
there exists nothing more than
the blind leading the blind.
there exists nothing more than
men who cannot make decisions,
painting portraits of nothingness
utilizing shades of gray.

It is agreeable that the world is full of conformity, but with so many people trying to non-conform today, aren't we all just conforming to non-conform?

on a broader level, to the "powers that be", but it can include things like the corporate world. the bit about lambs in the marketplace and what not.
