teeth chattering;throbbing within the cranium.
hiding my face from
the dawning of day;
the auditory assault upon my nerves.
seeking refuge underneath my pillow,
i grumble and ask myself. . .
when will the bloody construction
outside my window
cease?

here in my little old province of nova scotia, we have four seasons.
no, they are not 'autumn', 'winter', 'spring', and 'summer'.
they are 'almost winter', 'winter', 'still winter', and 'construction'.
clearly, this particular poem hit home.

I think you nailed it.. The migranes I get are horrible but still not as bad as the ones my husband gets.. As for the noise of construction in the city. I to can relate to that living in one of the biggest cities. It wouldn't be the same without it..

It does add to the ambiance of city life. However, when one sleeps during the day - and barely sleeps, at that. . . well, it is not quite so well-received.
I do not envy those who receive migraines. They sound less-than-appealing.

Oh I know how that feels. I live in a big city and there is always construction somewhere. I get some pretty bad migraines from time to time... really bad. I wish I could just magically get rid of them somehow, lol.

I have come to expect construction within the city, but they have decided to fix a portion of the street directly in front of our house. Others can sleep through this better, but I am not fairing so well.

I am sorry to hear you've suffered through migraines. I never have in life or undeath, but I had to help treat those with them. Never sounded like a fun experience, to say the least.

I worked primarily within the emergency room (and a small clinic), but we treated patients complaining of migraine symptoms. Enough for me to know the common complaints.
