Description
carried along in the arms of fatewith scarlet skies turning into
the black stillness of night.
just another solitary evening
spent admiring the stars without you.
we spent so many nights
admiring the stars together
that i still reach for the hand i once held
when seasons were more favorable to us.
the reflection of the heavens on water;
the silver and blue dots of light,
with ripples that intersperse memories
and the wind composing a soundtrack
for my melancholy thoughts.
if destiny brought us together
then why are these moments spent
with nothing more than a lit cigarette?
then why are you not here?
if anything less than heaven
had bonded our souls to each other
i would have sooner cast you aside
than to weather these nights spent alone.
but i lift my eyes up toward the sky
and smell your scent in the breeze
and close my eyes to cast you a kiss
meant to draw you closer to me again.
carried along in the arms of fate.

just beautiful. a subject i can relate to, the guy i thought was THE one, didnt think i was his and left. it broke my heart and yet part of me still misses his presence

This was.... excellent, for lack of a better word. Alas, excellent degrades this in my personal opinion. Imagery was displayed so prominently, so strongly.
I left this feeling... hollowed? I'm at a lack of words. But my case of the doldrums was certainly not your fault, Peter.
This poem helped me realize something... exactly what it was that I realized, I hope to find out soon.

Sporadic communications. Meetings of our own design. Not quite corporeal, but visual just the same. Being gifted beings does have its perks at moments.
