Description
A dead tree awaits the warm light of sunrise as it's perched along the cold crisp south rim of the grand canyon. This was one of the many images I shot over the weekend. This time of day is starting to become my favorite time to shoot. The glow just before sunrise is just beautiful.Yaki point- Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.

Wow, this is such an amazing capture! So many people have no idea what to do with the inevitable blue coloring you get in the canyon due to the atmosphere...you seem to have done the exact opposite and used it as a fantastic element in the photo, especially with the snow in the foreground. A cool Arizona photo; I haven't seen many!

I'm sure I will having never seen it. I was looking forward to heading down there this summer to camp, explore and photograph in detail but have decided to move out east to an island in the Atlantic but plan lots of vacations back out this way now that I have experienced it first hand. I have my eye on this storm to plan my departure.

Indeed. It is different from what you usually see. It captures a time that is a very much hidden beauty. Hm... It snowed, must have been quite cold there. Great shot!

Love the colors you've captured here. A stark contrast to the usual reds and orange shots you're always seeing of the Grand Canyon.

By the way, super jealous of your camera. That camera (and maybe the D300S + D600) are my dream cameras. Full manual everything

Why not aim for the D800 or D800E if your shooting Nikon?

Because the D300S is more economic than a $6000 camera

The D800 is $3000 which is cheaper than the canon 5dmk3. D800E is I believe $3300.
