Description
after much delay, it's finished. still well under 5k polys(quads), no textures and no wheels. i didn't spend too much time fiddling around with materials either, since it's rather a waste of time for my purpose. about 15 hours of modeling in maya 4. created on commissionRelated content

under 5k polies? really? I DONT THINK SO, its too round/smooth to be just under 5k, is it 5k before meshsmooth/nurbs/nurms/what have you? cuz it doesnt look like 5k, so if you want me to believe what you say, do a screen capture of your editor viewport. and also include a wirefram, not Isoparms, but a wireframe.

heh..i've been doing 3d modeling for 8 years, not three. and the reason that a poor render like this doesn't bother me is because i'm not building these models in order to render them. i'm building these on commission for a guy who will render them in his own program after tweaking them a bit.
spending time getting materials and textures done would be a waste of my time because my employer doesn't want them from me. he wants a blank mesh, which i provide. and if you want to see a wireframe, i've already posted one in my gallery. that view i posted is exactly how i rendered, no nurbs, meshsmoothing, or post added.

when I said 3 years, I was refering to myself, so how much commission are you getting for it, and is a business license required to sell 3D models?, or is a patent required to do such business? I would like to sell my models, but I dont know any of the legal requirements to do so, so since I'm sure you have been doing this for a while, you can catch me up on things right?

while i've modeled for fun for a long time, i just recently started selling them, so i don't really know the right or wrong way to do it. i don't have any special license and i don't formally copywrite my models or anything like that. basically a guy saw my stuff here and offered to buy something, and has since thrown some work my way. he owns the legal rights to the models i make for him, so if he wants to copywrite them he can go ahead. as to what i charge per model, that's bit personal and it depends a lot on the customer and the quality of the model, not to mention the time involved in the building

so why would it be a waste of time on your part? because this good be great and awesome, but for the current render with the badly antialiased lines, its kind of a bleh........I'm sorry but after doing 3-D for more than 3 years, bad coloring, lighting, and badly aliased lines will start bugging you, so when you do get the time to do a production render, tell me. cuz I would love to see it in all its glory.
